Comparing the Pvnc browser to the others just doesn't add up. Although it allows for more freedom within the household, it can't be used anywhere else, which is the point of the PSP...to be portable. Sure you can get on pspupdates while you're on the toilet or something, but I'd rather be on my laptop/computer than my psp when I'm online.
If I voted (which i'm not yet because I still need to test some stuff out) i'd probably vote for the 2ch when it has the capability to go elsewhere on the internet because it keeps a nice cache and seems to be incredibly organized with a large amount of options. (I think I even saw codecs in there somewhere....although that might be the tenchi one too...i've been on a browser spree today) |

Well I've tried Wipeout Pure and the Tenchi one. The Tenchi one is much faster, probably about twice as fast as the wipeout pure.

Edit: I never got the PVNC to work because of some stupid -1/118 error so I couldn't test that broswer. And as for the 2ch Broswer, you can only goto one site for now and its in jap...so unless it lets me goto my own sites; its the worst for now :P |

I just now read the smalltext, focker. So anyway, after getting the two new browser candidates running tonight, I was amazed by the Tenchi browsers speed, BUT the glaring lack of a "back" button renders it completely useless for browsing... My vote STILL goes to a URL hacked copy of the Wipeout browser that goes to Fugimax's PSP Portal for the ultimate in portable utility anywhere there's a public access point. Get the Tenchi browser a "forward" and "back" button, swap back the X and the O buttons to their rightful use, and localize it for English and I'll be all over it. |

But with no back and forward buttons, how can you casually "browse" sites? For example, I was using it to read Slashdot and found like three links I wanted to look further at... If you click on one, the only way to go back and click on the next link is to start all over again from square one... That's not a very good browsing experience to me. The Tenchi Browser left a very bad taste in my mouth. All that wonderful speed is lost if you have to completely start over everytime. I'll go with the slow-but-sure Wipeout browser anytime. |

The tenchi browser can be used to boot up the korean browser but it still has the same error message bout it not finding a file (psmf.prx). You have to rename the boot.bin to pspBrowser.prx and it will try and boot it up. The original pspBrowser.prx has no umd checks it seems.

Tenchi no Mon and WipeOut Pure Web Browsers are practically the same. The only reason I voted for Tenchi over WipeOut was because I don't have to carry my WipeOut game with me if I want to surf the net outside of my house (waiting for my brother in the doctor's office for 2 hours can be a pain and I noticed that they had no encryption on their wireless network. Talk about 97% signal strength in there!). Anyways, PVNC browser isn't that bad, but the only downside to it is you must PVNC. A lot of people cannot VNC into their computer due to it not support DHCP. 2ch browser isn't all that great considering it is all in Japanese and can only surf about one page. Give everything a couple more weeks and we can have a thorough vote with 2.0's browser!
