well i downgraded and now i upgraded to 3.02 oe-b
Dont get me wrong, the downgrader worked perfectly! I just noticed that it said:
"Uno mas uno son ocho menos seis."
Translated: "One plus one equals eight minus six."
on a 2.71 ta-082 with devhook .51 emulating 3.01, i had it crash when it was loading apps, or quitting back to the main screen.
For those that had this prob, does it happen using this method when using 3.02 oe-b?

I have just purchased a PSP with TA-082 & V 2.71 and am unaware about how can i undertake the following steps i.e.:
# Run HEN-D if you are not already running it. - I have downloaded the file, but How do i RUN it.
# Execute the idstoragechange. It needs 75% battery. It will change some keyes of your idstorage needed to downgrade the ta-082. - How do I execute the idstoragechange
# The program will exit to the XMB. Now execute the generic downgrade, which will show in the xmb as "Update X.YX" in the psp language.
Please help with the detailed steps in order to undertake the downgrade or link in the forum where the details are mentioned.
Look in the photo menu and you should see HEN
What a year for 2006!
Thanks guys, Harley G and DAX, you've ended my misery! :P
Yatta! ... Success!... J
ust did it with the easy installer:
worked great ... maby you want to try that rater than risking a mistake on the DA/DAX instructions ... scary for me ... but this worked out fine ... Good Luck
I used this installer and it was super easy. I didn't trust myself enough to place the files on my own so i used that installer and it worked!!!. I did it like three minutes ago. I'm happy finally we can ejoy homebrew to the fullestOriginally Posted by Thejosh209
thanks dark_alex i was almost giving up but you came with this amazing downgrder thanks to all the devs that just keep the homebrew movement going :Punk:
I have succesfully downgraded my 2.71 TA-082 PSP to a 1.5 Firmware PSP. Hooray for me, a noob with luck. However, now when I want to play an ISO game it tells me that I must update the software (of course because the FW is 1.5). Can you tell me guys what to do about this? I hear some people reupgrading to 3.02 OEA but I just don't want to take the risk of doing that without bricking my PSP.
Please help me and if there is a tutorial on how to reupgrade to a better more functional firmware for TA-082 now with FW 1.5 please let me know.
When Downgrading my TA-082 the second step says:
- Run HEN-D if you are not already running it.
I tried to install hen-d in the psp/photo but all it does is freezes the psp up. can anyone tell me exactly what im supposed to do, im a total newbie when it comes to the psp
I got this from another guy on a different forum, I hope it helps.Originally Posted by TNoob
How to install Homebrew Enabler for 2.71 - Revision D (for all PSPs with firmware 2.71)
In order to downgrade a PSP with firmware 2.71, you need to install Homebrew Enabler for 2.71 - Revision D (commonly know has HEN D). This installation is necessary for PSPs with and without the TA-082 motherboard. Installation of this hack is somewhat simple, and the risks of using it almost non-existant. This program writes some small files in the flash, ONLY the first time is executed. It does not rewrite any existing file in the system, it writes new files, so the probabilities of bricking are practically null.
1. Download the Homebrew Enabler for 2.71 - Revision D
2. Copy the contents of the MS_ROOT folder to the root of your memory stick. On a Mac, you may have to manually copy the /PSP/PHOTO/HEND folder to its corresponding location on the memory stick, to prevent anything on your memory stick from being replaced.
3. On your PSP, go to the "PHOTO" menu. Choose the "MEMORY STICK" submenu. Enter the folder "HEND".
4. If the PSP just froze, reboot and try again. This exploit is unstable, and only starts some of the time.
5. The first time you run the program, you will see quickly a blue screen, and after that a screen that can be one of two colors. If it is red, that means the files couldn't be written to the flash (it happens a few times). Just keep trying. If it is green, that means the files were written succesfully. After that, the PSP will be rebooted. HEND is now installed.
6. When you do a hardware reset, you'll have to run the tiff again. This time there won't be green or red screen, just a blue screen and a reboot, since this time there is no need to write to the flash.
do i need to upgrade the psp to 2.71 first, then downgrade? if so, could someone please direct me to where i might acquire the 2.71 firmware. i am new to this psp thing, but very techinically competent. any help would be appreciated.
thanx in advance

Another Success Story Here. Was soo nervous bout downgrading because i didnt want a brick, but i just went for it and it turned out perfectly :Jump: THanks dark Alex Very much for everything that you have contributed to the PSP Homebrew Community. Now to get 3.02 OE-B if i can gather up the courage lol
Well Done for the succesful downgrade
Successfully downgraded 1 on my 2 cousin's TA-082 PSP...as for the other one...what are the chances of downgrading a 2.81 TA-082? My little cousin upgraded in order to play Tony Hawk Project 8 on Christmas...and then a day later...this came out...darn...and it was a factory 2.71.
I just picked up a PSP on Boxing day.. Came with version 2.6 with IC1003 on the left side of the motherboard..
Would anyone like to guide me through on msn or something.. im too scared to brick it =]
Just wait, Im sure something will come along to help out, after all TA-086s came with 2.81, and from what I understand this same process will work on the 086s. So, I'm sure it will atleast get bumped up to 2.81, just wait...Originally Posted by shortboy

Is this a permanent fix or will it revert back to factory settings after you turn it off completely instead of sleep mode? I followed a guide to change my 2.71 to a 3.02 and something happened and the PSP booted down and I was back to 2.71. Thanks for the help guys.
Probably didnt go through .
I'm at 1.5 BTW
I Tired downgrading my best friends PSP...HEN-D didn't automatically restart it shut down the PSP and when i run idstoragechange or the downgrader the PSP will say that it could be started (can't remember the exact wording)
is there something i'm doing wrong or can anyone help me
After the downgrade, I noticed my USB connectivity w/ the PS3 was broken, and the device no longer registers as a "Sony PSP" in Windows, but a generic mass storage device, with no vendor/product ID. This is not a complaint, just a heads up =)
Other variable: I had also installed 3.02OE-B before noticing the problem (never tried USB w/ PS3 before hacking it), tho using devhook w/ 3.03 doesn't seem to fix it, and I don't think the firmware version is the issue, anyhow.
I used nanddumper (grabbed from HEN-C) to back up the nand data before running the downgrader. If anyone can point me to how to restore this data programatically (not using a modchip or hardware flasher), that would be awesome. Even just source code would work for me. Thanks in advance for any help =)
Once I get this reverted, I'll edit this post to let you guys know if it fixed it or not.
Also, this is sort of a double post. See the end of this thread:
i did everything, i activated idstoarage change thing and supposedly see the update version "X.YX" but i still see the version "X.YZ" help!!!
hey dude, you must try and try it again, i must did it 6 or7 times until the screen displays greenOriginally Posted by bigdirtyjase
you can only run idstoragechange when you already succeed with HEND !!!!!!!!!
please read the manual carefully :Argh: :Argh: :Argh: :Argh: :Argh: :Argh: :Argh:

Thanks I'll keep trying...it's the first time i'm mucking around with a TA-082 PSP. I did read the manual carefully...it doesn't tell you what happens when you execute HEND...as in what it's meant to doOriginally Posted by bobo2211
Oh well...you learn from your mistakes....
when it shows blue then red -> not success
when it shows blue then green -> success, the PSP will automatically restart, then you can execute the idstoragechange
That's only for the first time. After you get the green screen, and then run HEN some other time it just shows a blue screen and reboots.Originally Posted by bobo2211
Also make sure there's no UMD inside the PSP, that fcked HEN (C) up for me.
