gta lcs cheatdevice for devhook 1.00d

hey,
my friend just got lcs and i can't get the cheatdevice to work on emulated 2.60 or 3.02??
it always says 'busted'' as soon as the game loads up, and then it freezes at a white screen and turns off?

please help! i edited the file it said to edit, but it just says busted and freezes up!

it is the australian patched umd version
