All I did was re-name the folder to '__SCE__RECOVERY' and voila, no corrupt icon. However, if you ever want to go back to 1.50 or whatever via the recovery console all you have to do is enable USB in recovery and rename the folder to just 'RECOVERY' and it all works fine.

Yup, thats what i do, if you semibrick, and get to recovery, the "toggle usb" will work aswell, so just put it in there when you need it.

Or you can just put the single eboot in there (the one from the folder without the %). This works with psp filer for me, then use a organizer program to put it at the bottom of the list in the game menu. works on xflash too (at least when i did it).

EX: Filer% and Filer - put the eboot from Filer into the Recovery folder, without any extra folders inside. Should work fine.

The only reason that icon is curropt is because D_A didn't want u to be able to run it if ur not in recovery. If u cange the name to "__SCE__RECOVERY" then u can run it accidently and downgrade back to 1.5. I know it asks u when it starts if u realy want to but why not just keep it disabled like D_A intended so it never happens.
