Hi all. Attached you will find an English translation of kgsws' great work for converting icons to psp format for use with the topmenu_plugin.rco.

Here's from my readme.txt:

Custom xmbIcon Packager by kgsws
English translation by caliFrag

I take no credit for this release as this is mostly a translation.

Changes:
Hexed bmp2mig.exe and join.exe: Translated to English.
Renamed zac.dat and kon.dat to hdr.dat and ftr.dat respectively.
Support for multiple firmwares with one batch file.
Added advanced error handling procedures to the batch file.

To Do:
Add support to choose icon set from command window. (i.e. a directory list will display the sub-folders in "sets". You choose a folder and the program will create the icons from that folder.)

To Use:
Extract "xmbPackager" folder to desired installation directory. (Your choice)
Copy your icons to the "icons" folder.
1.bmp - Settings Icon
2.bmp - Photo Icon
3.bmp - Music Icon
4.bmp - Video Icon
5.bmp - Game Icon
6.bmp - Network Icon (N/A for FW1.50 users.)

Execute "start.cmd" by double clicking.

Program will prompt you to enter your firmware version:
(A) 1.50
(B) 2.50
(C) 3.02

Enter A, B or C and press the Enter key.

The batch file will execute much in the same fashion as kgsws's.
All messages will be displayed on the screen. (in English)

nice job man but i think you should of kept the .mig extension because it apperers in the topmenu_plugin.rco

ok i've updated the script and reverted it back to .mig extensions for the "unknown" psp format. thanks! i did not know .mig appeared in the topmenu_plugin.rco..

i believe the topmenu_plugin.rco file for 3.02 custom firmware works on 3.03 as well.. be sure to back up your current copy just in case you need to go into recovery..

Expect to see your name on the front page in a little while, as I'm writing it up right now. Appmakers and translators (and other folks with jobs that require brain power!) take ideas and make them real, so you deserve credit for a job well done too.

Good job!! This makes it easy when you get an error lol!! Now all we need is someone that will restore the camera and other icons. (since you packaged the icons i guss its a matter af time) I would do it myself but i don't know how.

i'm on 303oea' and werks fine and kadz_90 learn to speak english and not phonetics. it makes you look like a rube.
