its saying when i open update ver 1.50 the system software of your psp is version 2.71 there is no need to update
helpppppppppppppppppppp
Just put the things inside the mp_root in to your root of your MS and everything should be fine
Open the spoilers that are within the 2.71 spoiler to view a image on how to copy it over. It can't get much more simpler then that.Zitat:

Are you positive it was not a TA-82/86?Zitat:

Well if the PSP does not boot to the XMB its a brick.
i managed 2 be relived of that problem but i have alredy ran the 1.50 enabler but the update 1.50 wont work it keeps saying the software on your psp is 2.71 there in no need to update
any ideas?
You must of overwrote the EBOOT.PBP. There should be a UPDATE.PBP and a EBOOT.PBP in X:/PSP/GAME/UPDATEZitat:

1.5 EBOOT = UPDATE.PBP
Downgrade EBOOT = EBOOT.PBP (Found in the 2.71dg.zip)
Cheers for all the help. I'm taking it back to the shop and get a refund.
Ok finaly decided to give in and switch to CFW, and trying to downgrade my 3.30 psp. I have downloaded the 3.50 update, and renamed it. It says to place the new file in X:/psp>game>update but when i got to PSP>GAME I have no folder named "update" but I have a bunch (11) folders which have names like "UCES00422" each of which have a EBOOT.PBP file in them, question is which folder to I place the new 3.50 update EBOOT.PBP file? Or do I just make a new folder named UPDATE? Kinda new to this been reading forums on a few site, seems like I can get the most help here, any information would be helpful thanks!
Just create the UPDATE folder, the rest of them look like game save but they shouldn't be in there
Ok is it safe to delete the other files in there? I'm not to worried about game saves, or is it best to just format the card before I move forward? I know have the system at 3.50, but confused when copy'n the PSP folder from the 3.50 downgrader, should that take the place of the "PSP" folder already on the mem stick?
You should format the memory stick then put the EBOOT.PBP in the PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder
ok I just formated the memory stick, and am now @ ofw 3.50. I have downloaded the 3.50 downgrader and the 1.50 update. Guess now its time to try this and hope it works lol.
You do have the lumines game right...
Yeah I got the game, and think I have all the files in the right place now, thanks for all your help, I appreciate it alot. No idea what I'm really doing once its back to 1.50 but I'm sure these forums and people like you will help thanks again!
Upgrade to 3.40 OE-A use the guide in my sig, and your welcome for everything
can you rent games at blockbuster?! lol
Erm, yeah
I saw the posting below and I have the same situation. I have a PSP 2.82 (ta-82). I loaded the GTA LCS but it just loads the game and has not done any patching? Do you have any recommendations why or if any other easier way to downgrade/upgrade this psp so I can play games from memory stick?
Please help...I have been looking for ways for some time!!!!

Read the Piracy Policy linked in my sig...Qj cant give you support for backed up games...Zitat:

So we can't tell him how to play backed up games, we can still help him downgrade and figure the rest out himself...Zitat:

Just follow the guide for TA-082 to the DOT and it should patch and work fine.
Well I was about to edit but got side tracked....Zitat:

I finally was able to Update it to 3.03. Now another issue came up, GTA is not 2.0 so is there a another way to downgrade this to a hacked firmware?
Zitat:
Zitat von localbuilt
get gta that has 2.0 and dowgrade from 3.03 or get lumines and do the downgrade from 3.50
Get a copy of LUMINES then upgrade to 3.50 and use that downgrader...Zitat:

So:
Any psp (except 3.51) can be upgraded to 3.50 regardless of starting firmware
and any 3.50 version psp can be downgrade to 1.50 (with lumines) regardless of motherboard
Is this right?
Yes.
nvm, found it after more detective work, thanks for the great guides.
i know its probably been covered already but let me make sure you all dont make a bone head move like i did
i successfully dgraded a 2.71 a few months ago with my first try
then i have been stuck on for days on another fware i upped to 2.71 and a ta-82/86 2.71 because when i ran the hen d i kept getting the red screen
note to all make sure you remove your umd's when doing this stage lol
cant believe that **** had me stumped and close to slitting my wrists
anyway nice job with the guides and others with info
UMDs don't affect the process at all FYI ;)
I'm a bit confused about the "stuck on 3.11" bit. I recently purchased a used PSP with a TA-082 motherboard and 3.11 firmware installed. I was under the impression, originally, that I could downgrade this with lumines. Is it impossible to do so at the moment?
hendy, when you run a 3.30+ update EBOOT (most likely to be the 3.50 update when you try to use the Lumines exploit), does the installation come with an error message?
Unfortunately atm there is no known way to downgrade TA-082/086s who are stuck on 3.11 although I've heard that Fanjita and his crew at Noobz are working on it (if I'm right?).
Nope. Just ran the North America 3.50 update and it worked without a hitch. Perhaps it's because my PSP was using the Japanese firmware 3.11 that I didn't run into a problem. I have no clue. Now to acquire a copy of Lumines... that game is sold out all over Japan. I tried 10 shops in Akihabara the other day and no luck. At least I have a friend from the States who can send me their copy.
You didn't run into a problem because it hadn't been downgraded before. Since it was used, you took your chances but it worked out for you in the end.
If you downgrade, you won't be able to install the latest official firmware revisions until such time that a future development makes it possible (that's what the "stuck on 3.11" bit means).
I have 2.01
If I follow the downgrade steps to 1.5
Then what?
Can I play cso/iso from memory stick?
Or there is another step?
Is it better to upgrade to 2.71 then downgrade to 1.5?
We cannot troubleshoot the loading of game backups. Read the Piracy policy linked in my signature, thanks.Zitat:

Otherwise, yes, update to 2.71 then downgrade.
DO NOT:
ask how to get an ISO/CSO/DAX to load on your PSP.
ok!sorry
One more question:
Can I do all the upgrade & downgrade on 32 MB memory stick?
If it works I will buy 2 g.
Yes you should be able to.
I doubt it. All the files you need add up to about 40MBs.Zitat:
Zitat von spamzzzzz
Try it.
I am having trouble upgrading my 2.81 psp to 3.03. I can only find a 3.30 upgrade on the official website. And i have downloaded the 3.03 eboot provided in the guide but i haven't a clue what to do with it, i have done some trial and error and not got any where!! Could some one please point me in the right direction.
Thanks
Copy the 3.03 update EBOOT renamed to EBOOT.PBP to X:\PSP\GAME\UPDATE then run the update from the psp...
