just wondering if anyone can help me. i just tried to downgrade to 1.50 from a 2.71 but messed up and did not use the right downgrader. now my psp turns on but has black screen tried the dim button but did not work is there anyway i can fix this. thanks in advance
What exaclty did you use, we ned to knwo this to help you
Try giving your psp a full charge.
I also dont think the downgrade will work on a Fw that it not ment to work on..
What downgrade did you use...
i used the 2.71 PSP not the 2.71 PSP (TA-82 or TA-86) my psp has the letters inside. did not check stupid of me.
Its fully bricked.
No way to save it.
See what happens when you don't read?
Try taking it back to where you bought it and tell them you were upgrading and once it was done, it never turned back on
you all think sony will fix it, its still under warranty
yea they'll either fix it or replace it.
Either way you may get a high firmware.
i've also heard bout a modchip what is that, how can i get and is it cheap
Better than no psp, and at least this way you can get a mod chip and use homebrew that way
-= Double Post =-
They pretty cheap but the installation is crazy hard you might want someone to install it for you but it may cost like $200 or somthing but only like $60 to buy it. Try this link
well thanks everyone for your help :Punk:
If your really not into loading ISO or psx Games take a look at the gp2x It has way better homebrew support than psp..Best part is you really cant brick it...YOu really dont need to mess with downgrading or sony blocking FW...Best part it cheap...Then just send your psp into sony and keep it for gaming...
I have a 2.60 psp (not a ta-82). I also have a copy of lumines.
It is easier to go up to 3.5 then downgrade, or go up to 2.71, then downgrade?
And if I go to 2.71, do I use the 2.71 guide or the 2.71 ta-82/86 guide.
thanks
It better to use the 2.71 downgrade... You use the 2.71 guide not the 2.71 ta-82/86 guide.
....
ok?
Thanks, I will follow the instructions in the 2.71 guide not the ta82/86 guideZitat:

another question-
I updated to 2.71
I downloaded the 271g files, extracted them to the psp root (replacing psp folder when prompted)
I downloaded the 1.50 eboot file and renamed UPDATE.PBP
I went to photo, ran slide show, the screen stayed blue, then turned off and did not power back on
I then powered it on myself
does that mean it failed and I should run the slideshow again, or should I go to game and run the xyz program?
Try running the UPDATE X.YZ.
i get the game could not be started error
so i reran the slideshow, got blue screen/red screen/turned off
tried again, got blue screen/green screen/success
ran the update xyz, success, restarted psp
got a screen saying my settings were corrupt
fixed settins
success! thanks, much appreciated
Hi...
Just got a version 2.00 (European version)... I've read a lot of threads on this forum, and because this is my first time with a psp i am afraid of doing something wrong.
My intention on "hacking" the psp is to run dld games (w*r*z).
From what i read i should:
Downgrade to 1.50. Fine... Hummm... I only see North American version. Is it ok to flash on a European console?
After this, those games will run fine on 1.50 or not?
Should i go from 1.50 to a OE version (3.40)?
Thanks for this great forum!!!
Should i be formatting the mem stick after each upgrade, downgrade, upgrade?
hey im stuck when i press the lumines game it just have a blank screen
The Update is universal so don't worry about it.Zitat:

After going to 1.50 most game wont work as they require a higher update to run. Upgrade to 3.52 M33 to be able to play the new UMD's. M33 also includes allot of other nice features.

Thanks for your reply!
I did go to 1.50, following this threads instructions, and it went well.
Now i will go to 3.52 m33.
Awesome work!!!
So I downgraded from 2.71 to 1.5 as instructed, but for some reason, the screen is really dim...if the charger is plugged in, it eventually gets bright after a few minutes, but once a button is pressed, it is dim again.
EDIT: its a TA-082
Re-install your firmware. I cannot think of any other fix, sorry.
M_I, it's most likely that the IDStorage keys are corrupted. There's a huge amount of info on how to repair the keys at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlaySta...w#Motherboards.
Install a custom firmware (3.52 M33-2) and it will go away.Zitat:

Hi everyone.
I just got myself a ceramic PSP TA-082 2.6 Jp
I updated it to 2.71 like described in the tutorial.
I got the HEN and everything like in the tuto... but when it comes to put the update...... the data is corrupt
If I leave it as EBOOT.PBP, the PSP can read it but of course not execute it, if I rename it as UPDATE.PBP, it just appears as a corrupt file.
What should I do?
Thanks
Have you placed it in 'X:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/'
Yes
I did exactly like in the tuto...exept formating my MS with my PSP, may that influence the process in any way?
Do I really have to copy the 1.5FW(13Mo) over the 1.5(63ko)?
... :-(
Best is to update to 2.80 then download the 2.80 TA-082 HEN downdater package. Be sure to rename the 1.50 EBOOT to UPDATE.PBP or UPDATE if file extensions are turned off. 2.80 only corrupts key 5 if I'm correct.
Still the same
If I rename EBOOT to UPDATE it is displayed as a broken file.
May this has to do anything with the fact that my PSP is a Japanese one?
I really don't know what to do?
Name it to UPDATE.PBP.
patataboy, you keep overwriting the required EBOOT file for the downdater with the 1.50 update EBOOT. Redownload the package and download the 1.50 update EBOOT, remembering to rename the 1.50 update EBOOT to UPDATE.PBP or UPDATE if you have file extensions turned off before moving the file to the UPDATE folder.
DAMN....Why am I so dumb...
Effectively I was overwrinting the EBOOT from the downgrader, then renamed it to UPDATE...
It seems to work now.
Thanks
Np patataboy. Enjoy going to a custom firmware: pick from 3.40 OE or 3.52 M33 (search the forums for guides). Glad to hear you've had no problems :D.
woowwwwwwww nice work
Hey!!! I've just bought a PSP 2.71 with motherboard TA-082. I want to install 3.40oe for which i must downgrade to 1.5. Shall i upgrade to 2.80 and then downgrade to 1.5 to avoid usb problems? Or is there another method available?
Thanks,
Newton
Best is to update to 2.80 as it apparently only corrupts key 5.
hi i have a psp which is 2.71 hen-d firmware

i wants to play cso/iso files in my psp
so could any1 help??
