i got the D-HEN and the key changed and it says i can run 1.5 now, except it's not listing UPDATE X.YZ in the menu anywhere... should i try the whole thing over?
thanks
-= Double Post =-
ok nevermind i got it to work....
my next question however is.... can i erase the information on my memory card, or does it still need things from there?
thanks
You can erase it...
Hi,
Weird question, if the Lumines game doesn't reset after I press start and I have to go to the system settings then update x.yz, which button do I press to exit Lumines. (e.g. Home or circle).
Thanks
Should not matter as long as you can exit to the XMB to check if ti changed to 3.50 HENZitat:

arggggg..... even tho i put the eboot.pbp file in the right folder i cant seem to run the update to get it to 2.71.... why is that?
It must be in the PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP
Make sure your not naming it EBOOT.PBP.PBP
ummmmmmm
it is exactly liek that but exactly how do i get it to run? do i need to use a game or somethign?
No, go to your memory stick icon under game and it should be there
so just outta curiousity do i have to keep any of the files then? or can i just delete them all after i get it downgraded?
has anyone tested any one for 3.52?
I don't understand what you mean.Zitat:

He probably meant has anyone tested it on a fresh 3.52 firmware.
And no it won't work.
Get the jigkick battery.
Yeah quick question in the 3.50 downgrader when u copy the psp folder onto the root of the memory stick do u overwrite the current psp folder or back it up?
Thanks in advance

Thx 4 the fast reply i may also need help flashing to 3.40oe-a so ya....

Set-up Magic Memory Stick & Jigkick Battery - All PSP's
_________________________ _______
Important Info to know:
-A "Jigkick" battery is a battery that once inserted into the PSP, will boot the PSP into the Restore Screen. A Jigkick battery will NOT be able to boot the PSP normally unless converted back.
-A "Magic Memory Stick" is a regular Pro Duo memory stick which contains the files that are required to boot into the Restore screen.
-If you decide to convert your battery back, plug your PSP into your AC adapter to turn it on. Only reinsert the battery when you have the option to convert the battery back.
You will need the following items First:
-A PSP with any firmware
-A second PSP Battery is recommended but not required
-Magic Memory and Battery Setup
-1.50 Update eboot
1. First we are going to setup your Magic Memory Stick, Plug in your PSP to your PC and start a USB Connection.
2. Right click on your desktop, go to New>Folder to create a new folder.
3. Go into your PSP's memory stick on your PC and go to View>Select All. Now go to View>Cut, go into the new folder you created on your Desktop and go to View>Paste. This will transfer your Memory stick files to your PC, this is only temporary but required.
4. Once the files are done transfering, we are going to extract the four folders inside pandora.zip. Go to My Computer and go into your Main Hard Drive, its usually (C:). Create a New folder and name it Pandora. Extract the four folders "Battery, Installer, msinst and mspformat" into the Pandora Folder.
5. Now we are going to format your PSP's Memory stick but using your PC and not the PSP. On your PC go to Start>Run and type in cmd.
6. A Command prompt will appear, type in c: and press enter. Next, type in cd c:\pandora\mspformat and press Enter. Type mspformat X, X is your PSP's Drive Letter. Check your PSP's drive letter by going to My Computer. If you are asked if you want to continue, press y for Yes and press enter.
7. Once finished, exit USB mode with your PSP by pressing O. Turn off your PSP and take out the memory stick. Next, reinsert your memory stick and turn on your PSP. This is just a pre-caution that shouldn't take more than a minute to do. Start a USB connection again
8. Go to My Computer and into your PSP's memory stick. Create a folder named PSP, next create a folder named GAME (or it may be GAME150 depending on CFW)
9. Go to My Computer and go into C:/Pandora, go into the battery folder and copy both "pandora_battery" and "pandora_battery%" on to your PSP's memory stick in PSP>GAME. Now go back into C:/Pandora and into the Installer folder, copy both "pbfirm_install" and "pbfirm_install%" folders into PSP>GAME
10. Get the 1.50 update you downloaded and extract the eboot.pbp onto your PSP's memory stick. It should be right next to the PSP folder, not inside it. Right-click on eboot.pbp and go to rename. Name it UPDATE.pbp
11. Exit the USB Connection on the PSP. Go to Game and into your memory stick. Start "Pandoras Battery Firm. Installer". Once its done, completely shut off your PSP. Take out your memory stick and battery, now reinsert the memory stick and battery and turn your PSP back on. This is another pre-caution.
12. Once completed, start a USB Connection once again.
13. Go to My Computer and into your PSP's memory stick. Locate the file msipl.bin, right click on it and go to Cut. Go to c:\pandora\msinst and go to View>Paste.
14. On your PC, go to Start>Run and type in cmd. Type in cd c:\pandora\msinst and press enter. Next type msinst W msipl.bin and press enter. Once its done, completely shut off your PSP. Take out your memory stick and battery, now reinsert the memory stick and battery and turn your PSP back on. This is another pre-caution.
15. On your PSP go to Game and into your memory stick. Start "Pandora's Battery Creator". Select the option to backup your batterys eeprom to your memory stick. The program will exit back to the XMB when finished. Once again, start "Pandora's Battery Creator" but this time choose the option to convert your battery.
16. Once completed, you now own a "Jigkick" battery which can be used to get you into the Restore Screen. The "Jigkick" battery can not normally start the PSP, it will only bring it into the Restore screen. You must convert the battery back to normal for it to work as a regular battery.
17. Go to your desktop and into the folder that you pasted all the contents of your memory stick, Go to View>Select All. Now start a USB Connection with your PSP and in your memory stick, press View>Paste to re-add all your original Memory stick files and still use your memory stick as a "Magic Memory Stick"
No since you need 1.5 to do this...

I have read the instructions and understand what to do but I have a question and that is how come we can only use unpatched gta liberty ciry and unpatched lumines how come we can't use any other psp game?
Since these games have flaws in them so we use homemade eboots and then downgrade.....
My PSP was purchased with 3.03 and I upgraded the version to 3.52 via update. Can I downgrade using the Liberty City UMD method or does the PSP only recognise that I have updated to 3.52 and will not let me downgrade my PSP anymore?
Thanks
Peter

You need to use Pandora's battery to downgrade your PSP which requires a honebrewable PSP to make.
I have a PSP with firmware 2.71. I am trying to downgrade to 1.5. I am using the method mentioned in the original post. I have a TA-081 (or whatever, less than TA-082) motherboard. There are no letters or numbers on the motherboard when looking through the disc tray.
I can run HEN D fine... or I believe I can, as I get either a green or blue screen, and then it restarts. However, once I attempt to run the update, it tells me that I have firmware 2.71 and there is no need to update.
What am I doing wrong?
I read that the PSP system recognises the actual system that the PSP originally came with and that if you do an update via memory stick the PSP still recognises the original system. E.g my system came with 3.03 as standard and I updated via memory stick to 3.52. Does this mean that I have to do a pandora battery to get the PSP back to 1.5 or is there a way to do the Liberty City UMD method to get the system back to 1.5 which seems to be the easier route. I really don't want to muck up my PSP and fear I will **** it up if I have to do the pandora thing. I am new to PSP and have no idea how to do these adjustments.
Thanks again!
Peter

You can't use LCS UMD because that was patched in 3.10, and you can't use Lumines because that was patched in 3.51 so you have to use Pandora.Zitat:

HEN D is obviously not running. Or you overwrote the EBOOT.PBP in the update directory when you copied the 1.5 update. Just follow the instructions to the dot and it'll work.Zitat:

But, thank you very much. It was a stupid error on my part. I was reading the instructions too hard or something and completely overlooked the renaming step. It worked fine and dandy this time. :)
i have upgraded to 3.40 oe-a. but theres one problem!
when i turn my psp off my recovery settings reset back to default e.g. like no-umd option goes from disabled back to enabled and its a real hassle. is there any way around it??
thanks
Maybe try reinstalling 3.40Oe....
I'm trying to upgrade from 3.2 to 3.5. My PSP is Korean, and i can't find the 3.5 upgrade on the official Korean website (they are providing 3.7 already believe it or not...), and on that site it warns you not to use upgrade for other countries' PSP models. You have a North American 3.5 update available here on this site. Is it ok if I use this? Will it affect my PSP negatively in any way?
Hello, I have a 3.60 slim psp that i want to downgrade (no, i dont have access to a 1.5 psp), and they tell me the only way to do this is by creating a Pandora's battery. Now, one of the requierements o create a PB is to have acces to a 1.5 PSP, right?
My question is, can't i just download a 1.5 eboot firmware from the net and put that in the "magic" memory card?
Sorry xenophreak, but you cannot downgrade a 3.60 PSP Slim & Lite (you can install 3.60 M33 if you have a Pandora's Battery which can run 3.XX kernel homebrew and 1.00 EBOOTs). Try buying a second-hand classic PSP with 1.50 and buy a separate battery and memory stick from a place like Amazon.
Nice guide! Woulda helped me alot but I dont have the lumines. So im going to go with the next step Pandora's Battery lol!
when i run the
Pandoras Battery Frim. Installer when making the magic memory stick
i get this message
the game could not be started (80020148)
can anyone help?
Hy there,
I am new to this. I have a PSP which i downgraded it from 2.60 to 1.50 but now i dont have UMD drive anymore and i have trouble getting to work ISO or CSO.
What should i do? Shall i upgrade to 3.03oe-c or 3.40oe-a?
Or can you tell me which firmware is the best and how can i get to it from 1.50?
Thanks alot
NO ISO help. Please search for the Piracy Policy.
I loaned my mom my daughter's downgraded (1.5) psp. She somehow upgraded the firmware to 3.03. Now, I can't get it back to 1.5. I used the 3.03 downgrader but I have a patched (2.60 update) of gtalc. I don't know where to get an unpatched version. I will keep looking though.
In the mean time I am hoping that someone has a easy fix for this problem?
Can anyone help?? :Argh:
Great guide
Sorry so far all downgrades need a UMD gamee you can try looking for the unpatch version of lumines and downgrade from 3.50.Zitat:

Hi everyone I have some major PSP flashing/downgrading problems.
So I'm on 3.71M33, and while trying to modify a file in flash0 (topmenu actually, how silly of me to edit a hidden file!) I stupidly forgot to back up. This meant that the topmenu stayed how I replaced it, and for some reason no features would work.
So I thought I would use the recovery (the one that goes back to 1.5) and start over again. I THINK because the files are hidden and changed, the 1.5 downgrader doesn't work properly. Anyway, it gave me a lot of errors (such as can't find this, can't change this etc) and in the end it said something like "Flash0 corrupted, that's scary!".
I turned my PSP on, and sure it didn't work. However I tried recovery mode and it came up, so it's not a complete brick. I downloaded and did what the tutorial for downgrading to 3.52m33 here says, yet when I try to run the first EBOOT my PSP just crashes on boot.
So does anybody know how to fix this pleaseeeee?
