Keep trying until it works. Try another memory stick. Try setting a background image and pressing Start to run the slideshow. Basically, it'll either work or freeze your PSP. If it's freezing your PSP, you're not doing anything wrong; it's just a very very shaky exploit. But when it works, it works 100%.Zitat:

my Hen image shows up however the loader shows as corrupt, im attempting the 2.80 downgrade although my psp is 2.81
so if this wont work is there another way i can get back to 1.5?

Im living in Japan and i am on the verge of buyin a PSP, of course id like to use all the new advantages of the model with double the ram more speed and so on. But then i read here that one needs an old PSP with 1.50 Firmware to do all this stuff here around? Cuz id like all the kewl homebrew stuff and if there is an emulator which can run the PSX games on PSP, damn FFVII on the run id be hapy like hell.
So what do u suggest i do. grap an old one at first get all this stuff working and then buy a new one and do this battery thing?

I had no trouble upgrading my 2.6 PSP to a 2.71 that was easy. I am however having trouble with the Hen. after I took the files and copied them to the root, and changed the EBOOT.pbp to UPDATE.pbp I plugged in my PSP adaptor and highlighted the photo icon pressed triangle then slideshow nothing happens it just goes through a slide show of the hen image. what did i do wrong?

I upgraded my psp to a 3.5 from 3.11
I also have the T-82 MotherBoard since I have the letters
Of IC1003.
When I proceed to downgrade, do I need some program called
"HEN"? Or can I proceed by extracting the files, adding the
1.5 update and going trhough Lumines?
Or do I need the HEN program and some other things?

You do have Lumines don't you? You will need that if you are downgrading 3.50.

When you downgrade, your best option will be to upgrade to a custom firmware. The latest is 3.71m33-4, which combines the homebrew capabilities of 1.50 with the features of 3.71. You'll just download and install the homebrew and it'll run from the XMB like a UMD game (but from the Memory Stick section of the game menu).
Yes, you need HEN to downgrade, but it should come as part of the package for the 3.50 downgrader.

Just to say very nice that You are helping us with PSPs to save some money on cracking tha damn thing.
I had 3.03 version, then i did exactly what has been said in tutorial successfully downgrade it to a 1,5, then tried with the GTA,everything was according to manual, then i upgrade it to 3.03 and finally when i make a new folder named ISO in games and put the games it says, the file corrupted, etc etc...
EVERYTHING was done according to your notes from the manual, plus, i have formated the memory card now...
BTW before formating the psp would not played GTA...it would played only intro...and than switched off....
Please help me because im devastated...:)...honestl y....how hard can it be????

the 3.50 downgrade was awesome. I found 2nd hand Lumines at EB games for $15. i did the downgrade thing and it was awesome.
i just have one question, can i format my memory stick after the downgrade?

ok i've read through a fair bit on here but im still struggling and none of my symptoms seem the same as others here, i was on 2.60, i upgraded to official 2.71, im on a prE82 board, i.e no markings on the PCB.
followed the guide, copied and overwrote the files, renamed the 1.5 update to update from eboot.
When i go to photo, hit triangle and select slideshow, it does only that, runs a slideshow of the RAND image from the HEND folder. thats it! no colours, or freezing? any thoughts? im on a 4gb sandisk ultra 2, now on a FW guide on PSP-vault i saw a possible issue with FW pre 2.81 not supporting 4gb cards, would it be better to upgrade to 2.81 then downgrade from there?

I have see a site say downgrade psp only need three simple steps with pandora battery.
# Insert Memory Stick into the PSP (memory stick is not included)
# Remove power cord and insert the Pandora Battery into the PSP.
# A menu appears when the PSP boots. Follow the onscreen informationand instructions

Basically, they're lying. If a certain process isn't done to the memory stick then the battery won't work. There are two parts to it.

No the guide is right...You need another hombrew enabled PSP to actually make the pandora battery and magic memory stick.
