im having trouble. i cant load the 3.03 updater on my psp. any help? thanks

When I run HEN D my PSP restarts and boots back up. Does that mean that it loaded correctly? If not, what happens when it does load correctly? Sorry I am a noob and trying to figure this all out. Thanks!

Ok so now it says that I have version 2.71 HEN-D and I ran the IDSTORAGE Change and that worked just fine. However, when I try to run the PSP Update ver X.YZ I get this message: Error decrypting DATA.PSP I have tried it several times and nothing. Anyone know what is happening? I really wanna get this done! Very excited. Thanks.

Here is a pre made UPDATE folder for 2.71 ta-82 or higher

http://www.biaklan.com/downloads/271_UPDATE.rar

Open that and copy the UPDATE folder to PSP/GAME

Sweet i just downgraded my 2.71 to 1.5 - TA-082 i had a fright when screen was Black but sorted Brightnes out Hehe

My PSP says I have version 2.71 HEN-D. And then I did the IDSTORAGE program and that worked fine. But when I try to run the downgrager (Update ver X.YZ) it says it is starting to extract special prx's but the next line says that there is an Error decrypting DATA.PSP

I have tried several sources. Do you think it could my MS? I am having trouble loading some of the files especially the UPDATE.PBP

Did you try the pre made UPDATE folder i posted before?

Open that .rar and copy the UPDATE folder into the GAME folder.

If a overwrite box comes up. Just click Yes to all.

Sandisk and Sony MS work the best.

I just used that UPDATE folder to downgraded my friends PSP so it should work.

Try formatting your MS and placing the files on agin.

It work it work. I now have 1.5. Thank you!!! Now, I have a few questions. I'm a newbie at this.

What do I do now? Can I just put the game onto my memory stick and play? Do i need to update my firmwire? Can i delete all the file i put inside for the downgrade? Thanks!

Yes, you can delete the files used to downgrade on your PSP. And you may run homebrew on 1.5 by placing it on the PSP/GAME folder.

Something to look into is custom firmware.

All the features on 3.10 and 1.5 Homebrew loading among allot of other cool features.

Before I had the devhook for 2.71. I need a UMD to play any games. Could i still use the same devhook without using an UMD?

Also, i don't know what is homebrew. My friend told me to upgrade to 3.2 or something.

Once on 1.5 you can use devhook still. Also I recommend you update to a OE firmware.

Just look around the QJ download section and the forums. Homebrew is just apps, emulators and game made for the PSP.

i had i problem@_@....i have version 2.80....tryin to ge to 1.50... and everytime i do everything right i follow directions....then when i get to the downgrade part .....it says "cant find update.pbp"....i have no idea what im doin wron....i renamed the update and put it in the update folder....and NOTHING!!! im so lost>.< 'wimpers' pls help!!!!

many simple thanks... the downgrader worked perfectly, everything on the first try.

i have a TA-082 and needed to update from 2.60 to 2.71... then ran your downgrader with no problems at all.

just one suggestiong. for those are kinda new (myself)... maybe including a link or a quick instruction on how to upgrade to a specific firmware would be helpful. it took a lot of searching before i could find a topic on that. all good in the end... just a suggestion to make it more noob proof. thanks again!!

EDIT: so i can delete everything off my memory card now? HEND, idstorage, UPDATE, and all the root files?

Yup you can delete those files. And thanks for the suggestion it sounds like it would be a good add on.

I followed this guide to get my 3.03 down to 1.5 but I've been asked to do the same for a friend's Japanese PSP. I know this is a n00b question but as not having a Jap PSP, I've never really cared to know. So here goes...

Right, I'm not sure what firmware he's on (I think Fw2.0-.6) but I plan to update it to 3.03 and use the GTA hack. Shall I use a Japanese 3.03 eboot to update it and use a 1.5 Jap firmware for the downgrader?

If he has 2.0 - 2.60 you are better off updating to 2.71 or 2.80 and use one of the HEN downgraders, they are the same downgrader but don't need GTA

And you should use the japanese update to get to the firmware first probably, but it shouldnt matter

I know what mean but I've downgraded two PSPs from 3.03, so I just feel more comfortable with it.

So shall I use Japanese 3.03 update to get the PSP to 3.03 but then use a normal American 1.50 eboot for the downgrade?

Also where can I get a Jap 3.03 update from, I checked PSPupdates but the one they host doesn't say which region it is.
