I used the 2.71 downgrader, followed through everything, pressed X after it finished installing, and my PSP has been black ever since. Did I fry my PSP or does it take a really long time, because as I'm writing this, it's been over half an hour.

Hi all, I just completed the 2.71 TA-082 downgrade and I followed the great instructions (Thank you very much). I have just one question. The last step: I didn't see any blue screen nor did I hit O at it. Instead, my psp shows the startup screen (with the date and time setup. Did I somehow do it wrong?? I know I have the funky motherboard, and I thought I followed the directions perfectly. Anyway, whenever i hit a button, the display shuts off for a little while, then shows the time and date setup screen (exactly where I left off) Did I already brick it or do I need to manually turn off my psp then turn it on again? I'm afraid to do so.
Great forum everyone, and I'm glad to be a part of it. EDIT: After posting this, I read through what everyone else posted and found my answer. Sorry for the super newbie mistake. It was the brightness button! Is the the 1.5 firmware supposed to have a brightness setting that turns the screen off? Last edited by furuya; 03-21-2007 at 11:23 PM.. Reason: Stupid Mistake |

No its a IDstorage problem, because it was a TA-82 and you used the orginal 2.71 TA-82 downgrader. You can use the many IDstorage fixing application on dl.qj.net to fix your problem.

Hello there. I'm hoping to go from 2.71 to 1.50 on a TA-081 psp. In the guide it says to extract the downgrader to the psps root (ms0:\) - I've got 2 folders, PSP and MP_ROOT - does it go in the latter, or do I need to change the folder's name first, or make a new folder?
Thanks in advance, great site by the way, gsk |

the psps root is the first folder of your memory card. In the sense the windows u get right after u double click on Memeory Card(whatever_letter) in "my computer"

Ah I see. And wow, thanks for the quick reply
Also, just to double check, I do have a TA-081 if I have the ic6001 on the left, but nothing in the red area - http://www.pspmod.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9250 The pic in the guide here doesnt explicitly state that it is. |
