HEN can take a few time to load correctly. You should get a blue or green screen after you load it.

Did you download the files off the guide? The ones I have are not setup with the MS_ROOT setup so is everything is to root (X:/) you must of downloaded the files from another area or did not understand.

The PSP folder and everything else in the .zip go to

X:/

That correct but there is no MS_ROOT folder on the guide. Use the files on the guide and do as you just said.

PSP Folder to

X:/ (ROOT)

And your good to go.

Get the 2.71 UPDATE Here

Once downloaded open and rename the somenumber_eboot.pbp to EBOOT.PBP and copy to

X:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE

If it still does not run remove the .PBP at the end.

Hello!

I've been sitting here for a half an hour going into the photo folder and it's locking up over and over and over again, so I keep restarting it and it's not doing any good. When it doesn't freeze up, the screen just goes black right away and turns off... What else do I need to do? I put everything into my PSP folder, and it's just not working right... Here's what I have so far.

Root Folder > PSP > GAME > cube > EBOOT.PBP
kdumper > EBOOT.PBP, lilkibdumper.prx
polyphonic > EBOOT.PBP
TA82Patch > EBOOT.PBP, ta082_driver.prx
ipldump > EBOOT.PBP, ipldumper.prx
nanddumper > EBOOT.PBP, nanddumper.prx
systemparam> EBOOT.PBP
UPDATE > decryptprx.prx, EBOOT.PBP, extprxs.pbp, libpsadumper.prx, ta082_driver.prx
PHOTO > HEN_280 (Photo and Loader)
HEN_280 > hen(bin), patch(bin), 3 text files, and systemctrl.prx

Now, I realize that you do already know everything that's in there, because you are the one that set up the directions on what to do and everything, but I would just like to know if I have to many files, or what I am doing wrong. Why don't I see a blue/red screen? Is there something that I need to change?

Sorry about the stupid noob questions, I just got a psp and i'm trying to figure out how to do things on my own by asking questions... Thanks for the help.
-= Double Post =-
HOLY GOD!!! I just realized how frigging dumb I am. I clicked the wrong downgrader. I think I clicked the 2.80 and I needed 2.71. Sorry, nevermind!!
-= Double Post =-
Ok. One more problem. I got everything to work with the 2.71 TA-082 Downgrader, and it said I could run it and everything was fine until there wasn't any X.YZ downgrader to run in the games folder. All there was was the 1.5 Enabler (which let me change the key and said I could run 1.5 on), and the 1.5 Upgrader, no X.YZ file to run... Again, I am pretty sure I am missing something, but I followed everything step by step. What do I need to do to get the X.YZ file on there to run and make everything work fine?

PS.- After I noticed I didn't have the X.YZ file, I deleted everything from the memory stick and reinstalled all of the .rar files onto it and re-did everything, still the same problem.

Thanks in advace.

I should really learn to read before I post. I figured it out by re-reading and re-doing everything. Sorry to spam the message board, I just had no idea until 3 this morning.

You can restore defaults but not a firmware itself. Once downgraded you can always go to another firmware if you want.

Know what the problem is?

That means HEN did not enable. Re-run HEN from the photo menu you should get a green screen, this means it enabled.

I'm having problems with HEN D. When I enter the folder, my screen goes blue then my psp shuts down. When I try to run the 1.5 enabler, it shows me an error message. I tried redoing it a few times, but still no luck.

The same thing applies, HEN did not enable. RE-run it cause on most occasions it will not enable on the first go.

To check if its enabled it should say 2.71 HEN-D or along the lines for your firmware version.

Settings > System Settings > System information.

If it does not you need to re-run it.

Exclamation

I have a brand new TA-082. I was running 2.71 and I wanted to downgrade/ upgrade to OE.

Unfortunately, I had not discovered this excellent, comprehensive, up-to-date guide, but I did successfully downgrad to 1.50 using this:

It went off without a hitch, but in researching which OE firmware to upgrade to I read some stuff here and elsewhere about idStorage, keys, corruption, etc which I do not really understand. I am concerned, so before I do anything else...

1) Did I use the wrong program(s) to downgrade - and if so is there anything I can do about it?

2) How can I tell if there is anything wrong?

3) If there is a problem with the keys/corruption - what exactly does this mean? What functionality would I lose? What problems would I have? Etc.

4) Could I upgrade back to 2.71 official and then redowngrade with a different program/files? Or even upgrade and go official (I'd rather not run homebrew than have problems)?

5) Which OE firmware should I upgrade to? Is there anything I should do first?

Thanks. I apologize if my questions are stupid, they probably are as I do not quite have a grasp of this stuff yet, but I very much appreciate any help/advice!

1. You used a older downgrade that maybe could of corrupted the keys. This is not as bad as it sounds. And can be fixed if it bothers you.

2. You will get some basic errors like the battery not show the right details and other basic errors.

3. The above

4. Yes, the downgrade on this guide uses the corruption free downgrade so you would be safe with this.

5. 3.30 OE-A is the newest and you can upgrade to it if you want.

KeyCleaner is a good app if you don't wanna update and downgrade again. It will fix the keys if it find anything wrong with them.

Thanks! Great reply!

I wish I realized that downgrader was older before I used it, but what is done is done so....

How can I tell if I have any corrupt keys/other problems while I am running 1.50? If so, can I fix them while in 1.50 (KeyCleaner does not run in 1.50)?

If I install official Sony firmware (from 1.50) again will it correct/eliminate (potential) problems like this?

More importantly, would installing official Sony firmware from my current state cause any problems? Or prevent me from fixing any potential problems?

You may have problems upgrading to anything past 3.10 (3.30 - 3.40)(This does not include OE)

To make sure everything is correct Run This

Thanks again! I hate to be such a noob, but can you please explain to me how to run that program? The instructions are over my head.

If the program says everything is correct (I hope!) would I still have to worry about problems with official firmwares past 3.10?

Just open and put the folder (homebrew and homebrew%)(folder names will be different)
to

X:/PSP/GAME and your good to go.

If it says your fine you had no corruption.

The ZIP file has one folder called "idrepair" and in that folder there are two files - EBOOT.PBP and id-driver.prx (the other folder is src - which I assume is for developers and I am not supposed to mess with).

There is no "idrepair%" folder.

Sorry for my total noobage. :P
