i see this being useful as part of a portal. since i am not motivated to write a whole portal, i'm providing this code here for those portal writers to include in their portals. this would also be useful if you have a book (or books) in either html or txt format. you can put them in the /common/ folder and use this script to easily find them instead of typing the entire address. or you can have "add-on modules" to a portal for example, and put all the parts in the /common/ folder, then this code will browse to the part you want to open.
here's the code in a very small web page:
here's how it works: click on the "select" button. a file browser will appear. select the file you want to open - must be something supported by the browser such as html, txt, jpg, gif, etc. after you select the file, press the "go" button. easy-peasy.Code:<html> <body> <form name="form1"> File to open: <input type="file" name="openthis"> <br> <input type="button" value="go" onClick="window.location='file://'+ document.form1.openthis.value"> </form> </body> </html>
hope someone working on a psp browser project can use this!
