You have a rom for it ? I've been looking for that for ages ! You could try CPS2PSP as an emulator (go to http://dl.qj.net and look for it) and that might work, but I've heard sketchy rumours that MVC2 is based on CPS3, which I've never heard of before.
nope, it depnds on what its for and sence I am almost the biggest 2d fighter fan on these forums i am guessing no becuase that game is for play staion 2 and dream cast which those 2 can not be played on the psp
Marvel vs Capcom 2 cant be played on a psp yet. It wasnt made for CPS 2. If we get a better arcade emulator then we will be able to play it.

The game was also made for the xbox. And I dont think he was referring to the crappy console ports of the game anyway arcade version was the best.Originally Posted by Spawn844

crappy consoles?? you take that back dream cast was awesome!
dreamcast pwned. sega sucked. sega went bankrupt.
First Dreamcast is one word not two. Secondly the dreamcast was a decent system but the Marvel vs Capcom 2 port wasnt as good as the arcade classic version nor was the ps2 port or xbox port. Thirdly the Dreamcast system wasnt that good seeing how it wasnt very popluar and died out pretty quick. It definitely had potential but Sega isnt exacty a good company to make a console(the GameGear told us that one). The dreamcast had some good games but a few good games doesnt make a good console.Originally Posted by Spawn844
Marvel Vs Capcom 2.. its soooo hard............... Im a master using Spiderman.. but nothing else... I dont know very well how to use the assistance and those fancy combos using an assistance as well.
I would really love if this game was playable on a PSP.
Marvel VS Capcom 2 was released on Dreamcast and PS2/xbox
none of which would work on PSP
of course, maybe mame? if it does have one

Yeah, anyway, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is CPS3, not CPS2; and not even MAME emulates CPS3 yet, as far as I've heard.
Grrrr, I hate it when people don't use common sense...
You can easily tell without making a thread that MVS2s graphic capacities are way to high to be ported to the PSP. It will never happen. Oh yeah, to make the chances even less, CPS3 is not ported on the PC yet, and will never happen.
yes the mvc2 was no namco platform.
dream cast had a perfect arcade version of mvc2 muct better then ps2 and xbox..
damn, i loved thsi game (nothing beats beathing up SF characters as Dr.Doom!) if anyone cares, there is always Capcom Vs. SNK for the ps1 which is just as good as MvC (Mai pwnin Chun Li, now nothing beats that )
and for the record... the DC rules!!
Actually it was not made for the CPS 3 at all. The arcade system that runs Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is known as the Sega "NAOMI," (New Arcade Operation Machine Idea) which can be considered an early version of an advanced Sega Dreamcast in arcade form if you'd like. Anyways don't expect to see a "NAOMI" emulator for the PSP as there isn't even one for the PC because of its complex security system, along side with that consider the fact that the best Dremcast emulator at the moment, Chankasta, has many bugs both on the graphics emulation and speed emulation end. I'm not saying there will never be an emulator, because during my full year within the PSP homebrew community I have seen a lot, but don't get your hopes up.
Sources of Information:
NAOMI - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sega_Naomi
CPS 3 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CPS3
Well, we do already have dumps of a few "NAOMI" and "CPS3" games, however MAME is just now getting into the larger CPS2 roms... (4gb+ including the CHDs) this is impossibly hard to work with... To get the result you are looking for just isnt plausible with the limited hardware we would have..
The closest thing you could do is port M.U.G.E.N. to PSP (Wikipedia it, you will soon learn the art of WinMugen)
You can also torrent premade Mugen packs, (QJ, mugen is now publically available so its not illegal, this is what fileshare WAS made for)
that have a lot of street fighter and other games characters..
I wouldnt reccomend directly porting WinMugen, but rather porting the character/level and themeing system Mugen uses and then implement a much faster engine (as even on a top of the line system today we have problems getting the sound to play correctly)
Mugen is a very good idea for PSP and I would personally like to see Mugen with both Wifi Ad-HOC and global net play... but thats a different story...
sega didn't suck they just sucked at making hardware, their games pwned and still do.

SEGA Dreamcast got pwned because of the Illegal copying of games.
When the boot loader came out. The games were pretty badass marvel vs capcom 2, snk vs capcom, etc.
Ya thats why Sonic next gen and Phantasy Star Universe were smash hits right... Sega died when there dreamcast died yet they choose to still make games. Im not much of a Sega fan but come on look at how they completely destroyed there Sonic and Phantasy Star franchises its a shame.Originally Posted by mstrhelix
