Then create a PSP folder, then a GAME folder, then an UPDATE folder and move the 3.03 EBOOT named EBOOT (or EBOOT.PBP if file extensions are turned on). Then run the update from your memory stick.
EDIT: Did you do what everyone told you before this post? If so, redownload the 3.03 downgrader (even if you haven't do so and overwrite the files).

I posted after you, Jatt :o. Anyway xspeights, redownload the 3.03 downgrader package and run HEN by running GTA (make sure it says 3.03 HEN in System Information). After downgrading to 1.50, go to the 3.52 M33 installation guide and enjoy playing GTA if it's yours (I hear it's a good game).
AND PLUG IN THE CHARGER before downdating!!!

Pff i need help.. I updated to 3.03 and put the psp folder in my root. But when i start up GTALCS it loads game but it keeps loading until in game. I checked to see if HEN was running and it wasnt. :(
It just says version 3.03.. What did i do wrong?
If i look under the game its says not update 2.0 but 2.6, do i have the patched version?!

Just went to town but not a single store has the unpatched version. Only store that had it is a gameshop with used games.. They sold the last unpatched version for 100 euro's 2 days ago. :(
Is it possible to update even further to say 3.11 or higher and then downgrade without the GTALCS?
You would either need Lumines 1, that's for V3.50 or use pandora.
Guys - complete amateur at this PSP stuff but I have done my research and looked at the bulletin boards. Already have one I bought with 3.52 M33-4 firmware and just bought a "pink" for my daughter, which has 2.81 firmware.
Bought a 2nd-hand copy of GTA LCS (ULES 00151) - which says 2.0 updater so I think its the right one, and have copied the files across to the memory stick. When I run GTA it goes through all the credits, onto teh screen with the loading bar, the screen "flashes" and goes blank ........ and then nothing.

I know you've already bought a copy of GTA: LCS, but I recommend just creating a pandora battery with your PSP and downgrading your daughters via that.
Otherwise, make sure you didn't replace the original eboot.pbp with that of the update.pbp. Also, copy over each folder separately making sure you accept any overwriting warnings.

Thanks for the advice but i've now sorted it - for some reason I had mis-read the instructions - once i'd upgraded to SONY 3.03 it all worked perfectly - thanks guys.
No just once. After that remember to keep any game umd inside your psp to play the games downloaded to your memory stick.

shamil123, all the instructions you need are on the first page of this thread. To check to see if you have a GTA:LCS save file, go to the Saved Data Utility under the Game menu. Make sure you have firmware 3.03 before doing this.

RTFM: you just download the 3.03 downgrader and it will do EVERYTHING for you.
This downgrade will auto patch your motherboard...There is no way to "unpatch" it..Once it been downgraded you can no longer upgrade past 3.11 on official firmware ...But there is CFw that can get up to for 3.52(fat psp)and 3.70(slim)

When I LOAD the game GTA LCS 2.0 then when it will ask (Before the downgrader does anything to your PSP it will ask for you to agree to what it is doing
If you no longer want to continue press the Right Shoulder Button (R-TRIGGER)) When it asks that do I remove the GTA LCS or I leave it till I have V1.5? Thank you respond me as soon as possible cause I will try the downgrader tomarro and I will tell you if it is a success.

NO, NO, NO!!! Download the 2.80 downdater.
BTW shamil123 and himesh, make sure that your System Software is 3.03 HEN before running the PSP Update X.YZ. And the code should take you back to XMB after GTA is run.

Well if GTA LCS un-patched is hard for you to find. You can either update to 3.50 instead and us the Lumines based DG or find a friend with a homebrew able PSP to make a Pandora battery for you.Zitat:

It finally worked! I was up until 3am trying to downgrade from the 3.03 to 1.5 firmware. My PSP had version 2.81 firmware on it so I bought GTA LCS unpatched.
I did however run into a small problem when following the guide in this thread. It might just have been me, but then again it might be the same for a lot of people.
In the guide you need WinRar, so it says. So I downloaded it, but no matter how many times I tried to install and run it, it would not work. So today I tried WinZip instead. This is where the uncertainty came in.
The guide contains 2 images of screenshots taken which guide us when downgrading. These 2 images are taken, showing someone using WinRar. When you use WinZip, the images are different. Being totally new to the homebrew scene you must accept that I was real scared of bricking my PSP SO when what I was seeing on my screen was different to what you were showing, I didn't know what to think.
It was only through pure luck that I sorted it out. While trying to extract the 1.5 downgrader using WinZip, I clicked on the "view" dropdown menu in the toolbar. Then I clicked on "Files by Folder (Explorer Style)" option as opposed to the "All Files (WinZip Style)" option which it was preset to. Once I did this, the images on my screen were almost exactly like the ones given in your examples in the guide and it became much less "scary" to proceed.
I'll leave it up to the guys that make/maintain these guides as to whether or not to add in this little "troubleshooting" problem.

2. How can you tell if your copy of LCS is unpatched or not? (does it say some where in the menu of the game?)
