how do i emulate a 3.03 psp, on my 2.71 psp. I already have devhook .45 installed with HEN C. I have a NON ta-082 psp

why dev hook use 3.03 oe much better

Yes, upgrade to the Custom Firmware 3.03 OE-C. It will save you the trouble of loading homebrew and getting the benefits of the latest official firmware.

Not everything works in 3.03oe_c. Location Free Player does not work in 3.03oe_c at all.

By the way, if you know how to re-install location free player, could you direct me to how it's done?

It will require you to flash a file into flash0:\
A search in the forums will bring results.

ok, downgrading to 1.50 then upgrading to 303OEC is probably a good idea, but i'm to ***** to do it. I've read the guide, http://forums.qj.net/f-psp-homebrew-...n-d-82389.html in the end it says that i should boot into 3.01, does this mean that everytime that i boot up, it'll go to 3.01, or do i have to use HEN and DEVHOOK to emulate it again?

FYI, you can't just flash a random file into flash0 to restore the LocationFree player. When you install the 3.xx OE custom firmwares, all the 3.xx files are patched so that they're PSP-specific. To reinstall the LocationFree player manually, you'd have to use PSARdumper to dump 3.10 without "sigchecks," then find a program that can manually generate the "sigchecks" for the LocationFree-related modules.

Which might not even be possible.

So the short story is that manually reinstalling it isn't an easy option for anyone who isn't intimately familiar with the PSP's inner workings.

Heh... after saying it might not be possible, I did it myself. I even bypassed the initial setup so I could go into the player - though it is nice and useless without a base station
