i dont know if there is any initiative to port a web browser like mozilla firefox to psp, but i think if someone got it to work, it would end the urge to update to 2.0 just for the browser. so if anyone is out there, please try to get mozilla on psp. i know nothing about coding, or porting anything to anything, but it would be nice to be able to run homebrew apps, and have a browser. please let me know what you guys think.

Would it be great if someone ported Firefox to the PSP? Sure.

However, seeing as these developers are doing this only because it interests them, we have no place asking them to make us anything. The fact that they do make software that can be used on the PSP should be viewed as a blessing.

Basically, if you want something specific done, and you're not going to pay anyone to do it, you would be best suited to do it yourself.

FireFox is open sourced, correct, the problem is it uses to many windows API's and other thigns the PSP doesnt have, if the webbrowser was completely hardcoded and use absolutely no outside functions, except the PSP's calls, then it would be an ok port. The problem is the way firefox is programed in the first place, go dl the FireFox source and you'll see exactly what i mean, there are to many files and to many things to change to make it a clean port, we'd be better off starting from scratch, which is what i intend of doing eventually...

Ok ill explain it to you

you cannot run homebrew on ANY OTHER VERSIONS besides 1.5...and 1.0...

now to use the default browser...you need 2.0, which isnt even legally available in the usa...ok so anyway

you upgraded to 2.0 and then realise hurmmm i have this new browser...but wait why did i just upgrade i cant use it...

you post 10 threads asdking how to downgrade...each a mnew one because their getting deleted...

then you realise even if someone made a port of firefox to psp for 1.0 or 1.5 itd be useless...the browsers available now are fine...

I dont think this guys much of an Idiot at all. I would be nice to have a browser on 1.0 or 1.5. Because as a lot of us... we would all love that feature. Homebrew and a decent web browser. Doesn't Have to be Firefox. Thats to complicated.
Perhapes the right question to ask would be... does anyone know if this is being worked on?

More on the point. Please note this is not a reuest, merely a statement of sorts. Recently Mozillla released a browser called Minimo, which is specifically for mobile devices. It's almost exactly like Firefox, supporting tab browsing, and even extensions. I'm assuming that since it's mobile, it's more hardcoded and less dependant. Obviously, it's completely non dependent on Windows at the very least.

I am not quite sure if this is open source or not, but I'm assuming it might be. Before I get flamed, I will go check to make sure it is. If it's not, everyone can merely ignore me.

EDIT: I do not see the source at the moment, but I did not dig very deep at all, and knowing Mozilla, it's bound to be released at some point.
