Default Anyone here good at hacking the PSP?

I'm not demanding this or anything. But I'm really close to upgrading to 2.0 for one reason. And thats because the new 2.0 allows Pro duo's to play atrac3plus. I just bought a brand new pro duo just for this... I want to conserve space on the mem card. If someone could hack the PSP and make it so the pro duo's could play atrac3 and atrac3plus that would be a fricken awesome hack I would donate money to you.

I'm not sure, but I think the PSPMediaCenter project is planning on adding Atrac support... once again though, I'm not positive.

I don't know if there's been a public release, but the source is in SVN. I used some of their mp3 decoding code in the project I'm working on.

it's an audio format that makes your mp3's up to 20 times smaller, without losing audio quality... it's fricken amazing! I used it on my 32mb duo that came with the psp and I had this audio track that was like 4.3mb it reduced it down to like 1.5mb. Basically you can make your PSP into an IPOD if you have a 1 gig mem stick.

There is no need for atrac3's. You can get mp3's the same size and quality. Just use an editing program like adobe audition or total recorder and downsample it to 56 kbps(that what an atrac3 plus does anyway) and there you have it. Your mp3's will come out between 1.5-1.8 mb per song. Then you can even use media tagger to tag pictures that display on the psp as well. PM me if you are interested
