Default undesired effects for making your own ps1 iso?

this is a problem i have with some of my psx games. i made an iso of mortal kombat triliogy and it has scratches all to hell on it but the games still works on an actual system, on the original ps1, problems occur on a ps2. when i made the iso it was the usual big iso looked like it was made properly but when i made it into eboot form the game would'nt work at all. i tried it in my emulator on the computer and it still wouldn't work.

Well not all games are compatible mate. Well at least I think so. It's real pain in the arse when they don't work because you (well I) get all excited to find it doesn't wanna work lol.

thanks capN. i have the same problem with megaman X4 as well.... its a shame it would've been awsome for it to work. i know about compatability i just have problems with them crashing because of carried over scratches? in the iso? im not so sure. meh maybe i can cover up the scratches with some remedies and try and try again.

What do you use to make the images? Have you made successful psx eboots before? I had problems until I started using Alcohol 120% to make my images and then everything worked fine. It might be worth it to try that.
