I need help guys. I got it to run and all but it's sooooooo slow running and then i can't use anything to move the mouse around. Anyone that can help would be very appreciated.
Do you think the bigger the c.img is the faster it will go? Plz help me Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
At first I didn't listen to him. Then i tried it for myself and wish i hadnt wasted my time with Windows 95. Does anyone know if they will ever make this better cause this sure does suck.Zitat:

Windows 3.11 installation gives me a Not Enough Disk Space error.
Got it to work, for some reason 192 megs would work and neither would 18, but 25 megs seemed to make it go "Ok!"
Still haven't loaded it on to my PSP yet...
I have come to the conclusion that Win3.11 is impossible to install using Boch.
Actually I lie, but it is un-use-able. I can get Win3.11 up and running on PC, but only right after the install because it requires MS-DOS 6.22 to be installed to really boot. Using bochs, you cannot install MS-DOS 6.22 because of it having no cd-version and is un-runnable when on a hgher version of DOS.
You can make your own bootable cd with the windows install. Then try working it, it should work if you make the cd install DOS and so. Shouldnt be too hard.Zitat:

Bochs refuses to install Dos from CD, or rather, MS-DOS 6.22 refuses to install from DOS.
Anyways, I moved on and I am trying to get DSL or some other linux distros to work. Having no luck so far.
Tried DSL and Puppy, so far nothing works when loading the kernel.
Someone just port Qemu please <_<
my psp is version 2.6 i have the eloader for gta...and my question is will it work with bochs. I downloaded the ready made windows file from psp updates and i went to eloader. i selected bochs and waited. a balck screen came up and said
a pressed a button and a blank balck screen came up.Zitat:

Press a butonto continue
then after waiting about 2 minutes my psp turned off.
I would say no, I think this needs Kernal support.Zitat:

when I run w95.bat, all it does is tell me the path of the folder that it's in
//EDIT:
Sorry, i forgot to explain:
I´ve typed the following line into Bochs: setup \is.
Now the Problem: It should not appear the ScanDisc, but it does. After the ScanDisc finishes, i can´t go on.

I can either press the Exit-Button with the Cursor, nor can i use my mouse.
How can i solve this problem?
So I want to install MS-DOS 6.22, but I realize their is no real keyboard support is there? I mean... how do I type? I want to make a batch file that I can just tell it to run at startup that will launch a dos game, such as the incredible machine. I think that may work... any help or suggestions. Such as, is this even worth it? there is a lot of pessimism on running a game on this even working. Whose got their opinion ready on a dos game?
Would an n64 emulator ever work on this?
how the fsck is a n64 emulator gonna work on win 95 ON the psp? if we can barely get an n64 emu just on the psp how fsck is this gonna work?
is there a way to do this without the cd?
legally, no...illegally...maybe... .
will it work on 2.0?
Ok, so I dont really want to get win95 on the psp cos thats ,, pretty dumb- but is there a DOS emulator so old games will run, such as Dune2 / Stunts and things like that? - I know you can get the games on the amiga emu, but that emu hasnt been continued in a loong time ;(
dont think so it brealy runs on 1.5Zitat:

ok i am having such a knighmare about running this.
can i use xp?
do i still use the win95.bat file in the resource folder of bochs?
if not where on the xp cd is the file i need?
how do i install xp onto the c.img file?
i am getting no sleep because all i keep thinking about is bloody dos.
and what i have to type.
ok..i hav the following files in my vm folder in the mem stick== BIOS-bochs-latest, bochsrc.bxrc, c.img, and VGABIOS-elpin-2.40,,,,but when i start bochs in my psp it comes back to the menu withouit showin anything....it booted perfectly on my computer
I've gotta agree with lkjhgf206... it's not worth all of your toil. Luckily I got it to work on my second try... you need to copy the rest of the files from the Bochs folder (BIOS-bochs-latest and VGABIOS-lgpl-latest.bin) for it to work... took a good 15 minutes to start it up and I left it alone for a few minutes and it froze after the 'Welcome to Windows' screen. Deleting this from my MS so I can save myself 200 megs.Zitat:

Maybe a stupid question, but does this work on PSP's with firmware 2.6 yet? I searched the forum and read a few pages in this topic but this topic has like 12 pages, takes too long to read/search :P
:)
edit: sorry, I see someone asked just before me.
Hi ... thanks for the guide! Got it running OK!
Just one thing... my mouse isn't moving when I press D-Pad repeativly... any tips? Thanks again

Hmm, so nobody knows if there is a eboot that will work on 2.01 yet? I keep getting the suspicious hard path error as well and would like to know if it's possible to still put it on a psp. Any help would be great.
Nah, Bochs program requires kernel access.Zitat:

Sorry for this post guys, but i havnt followed this thread at all... but does Win 95 really work on PSP 1.5? Can you use internet browser and install apps/programs/games?
Tell me all about it, havnt followed so i dont know any thing!
Win95 works.
You can't really DO anything on it thought. No internet browser.
It runs and you can make files and such, but there's absolutely no device support (i.e. internet) so it's not very useful.Zitat:

Okey, thanks guys, so it isnt really necessary then... but funny that this works, what are the uses if not internet and such?
wow, this seems pretty intense!
A better alternative to windows PSP: File Assistant!
Will windows 98 works? Cause I have win 98 cd. But to get win95 working u have to get the cd right?
Windows 95 emulation is very slow. Unfortunately, this makes Win98 even more unattractive.
So you can't get windows 95 on your PSP if you don't have the 95 cd?
You're better off using the file assistant. Alot faster and it's better for file management.
so...all in all..putting these OS's on your PSP are pretty much pointless since you can do liek absolutley nothing?
