The only thing I'm confused about is when he says to click on the win95 file in the folder, the dos window pops up, but instantly goes away, and he says i have to input some stuff into it. What am I doing wrong?

Also, if someone has a Windows 95 disc, could you take a screen shot of the contents of the disc, so I can compare it to the contents of my 21 floppy disks? Thanks a ton, hope someone can help me.

Shiiiiit.. I wouldve, was just looking for it.. dont know where my Win 95 cd IS now.. Unless its in the other case.. which is in the garage.. which dont know what box.=/
Meaning Ill have to find it off the net I guess..

BTW.. has ANYONE tried getting Windows 3.11 to work?? I know that sounds simple.. but.. just wondering..

Your SOOOO lucky, was in my big binder my CD. Here you go, This is the root dir and the Win95 dir. Hope that helps.

Wow! Thanks a lot. Now I know where to put some of the files. I'm assuming that I can just burn this to a cd and use that program in the tutorial. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

EDIT: hmmm...I don't think I have a "win95_02.cab" file. oh well, I'm still gonna try. Oh, and btw, just tell me how much of my points you want, I have no use for them :icon_wink

(Bout points) I dont care, all Im gonna do is just edit my username stuff bold etc lol, Already did title. Its called do whatever you think lol, after all the makers of these forums put it here, may as well acid test the system heh. =)

Also I dont know about the cab files as this version is the CD, but I DO know that ALL you ever needed to install ANY windows OS was the main folder. Win98, Win95, 386.

The folders that had the cab files and the setup exe. As for CD image.. it SHOULD work.. however Win 95 back then required a boot up disk to even install. I know I tried to once make a bootable cd, failed cause I think I did something wrong when I made mine. =/ But just gotta try it out and let us know.

Anyways back to work on the Mac EMU stuff. ^_^

That is talked about in the Premium forums, it WAS able to be changed, till too many abused system, now its all about posting and so to earn points or steal them if you have 500 points lol. (See the Store tab) Its ok and all.. interesting twist for forums.. I just wanna edit my username. =)

Did I mention that I hate floppy disks with a passion? I'm on disk 18 of 21. Thank god I'm almost done, I'm ready to grab my lighter and burn all of these ancient things.

Now you understand why I once made a cd that had Win 95, 98 and upgrade 98 on one CD.. was easier back then to have a all in one cd. lol.

Do you think the files have to be in certain folders, or can I just copy the files as they are and they'll just be searched for?

Last I checked.. it ran off the config.sys or something.. the win 95 boot disk, which TOLD it where to look.. your running floppy version.. so im gonna GUESS it can be all meshed together.. or since you can do both.. put all files in the root of the cd, AND have a Win95 folder with the cabs and stuff in it. This way you should have all angles covered. (I hope)

Yeah, I did, but the program "w95" doesn't even recognize the cd.

I think I might try this on my other computer, this one is so new it doesn't have a floppy drive. I remember it saying something about floppy disks in one of the bochs files, so I think it could work.

Ah.. thats a good question.. Ill have to try it out myself to see how it works to be honest then. I mean I know the orig used a boot disk. I dont know yet how bochs works in looking for a file. It might need to specifiy where your files will be located in it. Check that guide see what it says you need to do or how to install.

I wish somebody who has done this could just put it a zip folder like one of those premade homebrew packs. I know it's probably illegal, but it would save me from an aneurism.

Would be nice if someone torrented it, yes. Would save hassle I know, the complete file was only about 60 megs too.. too bad it wasnt seeded anymore.. =/

I mean I could make my own and all.. but right now. Aside from "looking" nice, its useless. Thats why no one wants it yet. mac on the other hand has promise..

Mysticales, I would like to thank you for all your help. I finally know why nothing was working. It's official, I am the biggest retard to walk the face of the earth. I made such a stupid mistake. I didn't read the part where it said to move the c.img file to the bochsrc folder. I did it, and now I'm going to continue working on this.

Ok, now I'm running into a real problem. When running the emulator on my computer, it says to type "format c:". I do that, and it says "format not supported on drive c, format terminated" What do I do?

Ok, I got it working and I even got setup to run. Problem from the start though, is the fact that it's on floppy disks. I think what will work though is if I get a cdrw, and every time it needs the next one, put it in my other computer, erase it, and copy the contents of the next disk over. Tedious, yes, but it should work.
