So.. Recently I started my PSP up for the first time in around 2 months. I wanted to use it as a $200 remote control, so I booted up IRShell. When I used a remote control it gave an error about SceIrdaDriver missing. This is where the problems started. I tried to reinstall IRShell, but during the process (Opening USB mode, starting up IRShell, configuring IRShell, etc.) I got loads of BSOD's.
I decided I'd install 4.01 M33, so I went to Network Update in the XMB en downloaded the 1 MB file. That file downloaded the 4.01 update and it started to update using the sony updater. When it was finished it told me to press X to restart my PSP and I did. However, my psp wouldn't restart. The green light would be on for around 10 seconds, and then shut down. (A typical brick isn't it?) I booted up my PSP again pressing the L button (because I remembered I had Hellcat's Pandora Menu installed). These are the things I tried:
Boot to full firmware (from memory stick): It would boot 1.5, but would fail to startup any games, since they are all in 3.xx kernel format.
Go to Pandora Main Menu: It would start up MaxSafe, I'll tell about this later.
Boot PSP from internal flash: Nothing, just the same thing as when I normally boot my PSP.
Fix Flash1:/: Worked, but didn't help.
Launch app with Flash0:/ access: Didn't work for all apps I tried.
Launch CFW installer: Same as above. (Note: It did format my flash and successfully write an new IPL)
Now for MaxSafe..
I didn't have a NAND dump, and the "Downgrade using Update" would give me two errors (and proceed like it should): PANIC: Failed to read IPL, and PANIC: Failed to write IPL.
After it installed 1.5, the PSP was still bricked.
Anyone has suggestions/tips for me? Maybe a way for me to install Despertar del cementerio (DC5) manually? Thank you for reading my story, and I hope I'll get some useful reply's :).
