Fetts, you could've placed them in one post. However, what you are making him to do is quite long, but it is correct. He can use Hellcat's Recovery Flasher directly.

This is the best thing to do. Skip 3.71 M33 at all costs. Quite a few people have reported messed up ID storage keys from it, when trying to downgrade (mostly the 3.71 M33 downgrader program.).

Congrats on your 1.50 PSP. Use hellcat, then get to 5.00 GEN-D2 (5.00 M33-6 > 5.50 Gen-A > 5.50 Gen-B > 5.50 GEN-B2 > 5.50 GEN-D2).

Least this is what I would do, instead of spending day(s) going through firmwares to get to where you wanted to go to.

I actually got it to work a while back. As per imafreak's suggestion I updated straight to 5.00 m33. I've been running all sorts of stuff on it. What a wonderful portable that I wish I'd gotten a long time ago.

If you know off the top of your head however, of the later CFW's like 5.55 is there any improvements to the web browser?

No sadly, there isn't. Mostly other things. There are, however, browsers like netfront, and opera mini 5.0 here on the forums. They are buggy, but better than the PSP's default. Check the PSP development forum for them. There is also a lot of other great homebrew there. Watch this page for the latest and greatest: http://www.qj/net

Actually, a couple of security patches, and TendMicro sponsor security----More lag, less RAM.

opera mini 5.0 here on the forums

The 5.0 is buggy, but the former versions are quite good.
