History
===== 10/29/09 Here's where I stand at this point. As I mentioned, the first PSP went without a hitch. 1st PSP: 1) Used HellCat's Recovery Flasher 1.60 2) Successfuly downgraded to OFW 1.50 (verified in System Settings) 3) Put OFW 6.10 file on memory stick 4) Ran 6.10 update file and successfully updated to OFW 6.10 2nd PSP: 1) Used HellCat's Recovery Flasher 1.60 2) Successfuly downgraded to OFW 1.50 (verified in System Settings) 3) Put OFW 6.10 file on memory stick 4) Ran 6.10 update file 5) Received the following message: - "The system configuration of this PSP system does not appear to be correct. The update cannot be completed. Contact technical support for assistance. (DRNFFFFFFD7)" 6) Tried to install another update (2.71... this update was on the Madden 07 UMD that I had in the PSP) 7) Received the following message: - "The system configuration of this PSP system does not appear to be correct. The update cannot be completed. Contact technical support for assistance. (DRNFFFFFFD7)" 8) Used KXploit 0.3 to reinstall HellCat's Recovery Flasher 1.60 9) Received the following message: - "The game could not be started (80020148) 10) Did a little research and saw that some people with this message about the system configuration not being correct used a program called KeyCleaner to unpatch some keys and that that seemed to work for them. 11) Installed KeyCleaner via KXploit 0.3 and ran it 12) Received the following message: - "The game could not be started (80020148) ========================= ========================= = **UPDATE** Just for kicks I tried once again to update to the FW that resides on the Madden 07 UMD (2.71). This time I was able to update to 2.71. So, after updating and restarting I copied the 6.10 OFW update to the PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder on my memory stick. However, when I attmept to run it I still receive the same error: "The system configuration of this PSP system does not appear to be correct. The update cannot be completed. Contact technical support for assistance. (DRNFFFFFFD7)" So, I guess I got a little further. However, I still receive the same issue. ========================= ========================= == Latest update........... I've been able to incrementally update from 2.71 > 2.80 > 3.03 OFW. However, I seem to have reached a roadblock now. Haven't found anything I can install that will not throw the same message that I receive from my above posts. This is strange that it's letting me incrementally update (at least it was). ========================= ========================= == **UPDATE** 11/12/09 Well, I'm still pluggin away here trying to get this 2nd PSP up to OFW 6.10. When I left off a week and a half ago I was at OFW 3.03. I was able to get my hands on an unpatched GTA:LCS UMD and the 3.03 downgrader files. I successfully downgraded back to OFW 1.50. However, I was still not able to make the leap from OFW 1.50 to OFW 6.10 like I was with my 1st PSP. So, I got 3.52 M33 CFW files and updated the 2nd PSP to that CFW. I then tried using Hellcat's Recovery Flasher 1.60 just as I did with the first PSP to try and get a "clean" install of OFW 1.50. There was some sort of hiccup during the OFW 1.50 install and the PSP hung during install at the "Formatting flashes..." step. I thought for sure I had bricked the PSP at this point. I let it sit for roughly 15 minutes before deciding to try and power the PSP off. Surprisingly, the PSP came back and was still in CFW 3.52 M33. This time I tried updating via Hellcat's Recovery Flasher 1.60 to CFW 5.00 M33-6. This went off without a hitch and I was running CFW 5.00 M33-6. At this point I tried putting the "clean" OFW 1.50 install back on and this time it worked. I was back at OFW 1.50. However, when I attempted to update to OFW 6.10 I received the now very frustraing message: "The system configuration of this PSP system does not appear to be correct. The update cannot be completed. Contact technical support for assistance. (DRNFFFFFFD7)" Grrrrr. So, I got the PSP back to CFW 5.00 M33-6 which is where it currently stands. Not really sure what else to try here. Am I stuck? |

Well, elite999, that worked. I was able to get the 2nd PSP to OFW 6.00. Thanks so much for your suggestion! I truly appreciate it.
Something must still be a little funky on the PSP though because I was still not able to update to OFW 6.10 from my current status of OFW 6.00. I got the same message that I have been receiving all along. Not really sure if there is anything I can really do about it. I'm just happy to be as close to the current OFW as I can possibly be. Thanks again for you rhelp! What a pain this whole ordeal has been. |

Welcome blaidan. Glad to have helped you.
![]() Well, I would suggest currently to reflash 6.00. But anyways, at least you made it to work. I will contact you if I find any other solution.

What do you mean exactly by "reflash 6.00"? I was under the impression that if the PSP is currently at the firmware that you are trying to update to that it simply would tell you that you are current and not perform the update. I would very much appreciate it if you contacted me if you ended up finding anything that might help me get past that error message. Thanks again! |

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think I can do this procedure form this guide because since it requires a Pandora battery I would have to be on a CFW, correct? Since I am on OFW 6.00 wouldn't that mean that i can't preform the procedures in this guide? Also, thanks as always for the help and suggestions! |

I was under the impression that even if I hardmod the battery to make it a Pandora that it wouldn't work because my PSP is currently running an OFW and not a CFW. I thought in order to actually get the benefits of the Pandora battery or even use it in the first place you had to be running a CFW. I must have been mistaken. Hmmm.

Not a problem.
So what are you going to do?Hardmodding a battery has nothing to do with the PSP, being CFW or OFW. It is just a manual procedure.

Gotcha. I guess the question then is.... should I bother either hardmodding a Pandora or buying a Pandora battery? My question really is even if I hardmod or buy a Pandora battery can I even use it since I am not currently running a CFW? I guess I thought that in order to get to the recovery stuff and actually utilize the Pandora battery I had to be running a CFW.

Buying or modifying your battery depends on your intentions. You can reconvert the hardmodded battery to a normal battery again, but you need soldering skills. Nothing much, nothing less.
