I apologize if this has been asked elsewhere, but I am rather annoyed and confused by this issue I am having.
A month or so ago I went from M33 to GEN in order to play the newer games (this was before the M33 patcher was out). I just noticed recently that when I go from the XMB to a game or vice versa my backlight setting is reset to the lowest setting (without turning off). I then adjust it to where I want it, but once again when I quit the game, it's back to lowest setting. I asked someone I know to check it on his PSP and it doesn't have the issue, but he is on a 1000. I am wondering if this is a GEN-D issue with PSP-2000's or just with my PSP. Thanks. |

I did a few google searches but I didn't find anything pertaining to this issue. Granted I didn't search for a long time. My PSP is the same as yours and I tried resetting/formatting Flash1 and still nothing. I appreciate the help and I hope someone else gets back to me.

LegolasFett, the first thing you should try is reflashing the current PSP firmware. Check this guide out. Section "For CFW PSP users to update to 5.50 GEN-D2 (NEW METHOD)". If the problem presists, I will supply you with an alternate solution.

look this guy had the same but reversed problem
well i updated to gen-D QUOTE(djricekcn @ Oct 21 2009, 05:49 PM) ![]() oh, and the backlight was retarded on gen-C for me, it always switched brightnesses when you switched between xmb and a game, rather annoying when i wanted it at lowest setting... thats fixed for me in -D if you were on C and it started you might want to try to go back to b2 or b and then go to d i i tried to use c but i bricked so i reflashed to b2 then d when it came out and so on but as i said before i am not that experienced and you should get a second opinion |

LegolasFett, downgrade to 5.00 M33-6 using the same guide. Tell me if the problem still persists. Don't upgrade yet. Just downgrade to 5.00 M33.
