I'm sure some of you have seen the Doodle Jump made by Team Cheytak, I looked at the code and I saw how inefficient the code was and that it was in German. I am experienced in Lua, so I am overhauling Doodle Jump for the PSP.
This topic is a topic to discuss PSP Doodle Jump Overhauled (I think I should stick to the name "Doodle Jump","PSP Doodle Jump" or "Doodle Jump Overhauled") and to get help if I get stuck along the way.
The game uses Phoenix Game Engine, FYI.
1) I'm transferring the movement from directional arrows to analog, I got it to work, but how do I make it sensitive to the amount. If you do not mind spoon feeding then please fix the snippet below
There is a possibility that the code snippet above doesn't even work due to the fact that the forum has a bug involving tables in Lua being seperated by a period multiple times in a form that looks like a subdomain of a link. >_> Links cant be posted since I only had one post at the time of posing this.Code:if (use_arrow_movement and pge["controls"]["held"](PGE_CTRL_UP) or pge["controls"]["analogy"]() < -50) and doodle["status"] ~= "fallen" then --Increase speed to left doodle["speedy"] = 5 doodle["direction"] = "left"; end if (use_arrow_movement and pge["controls"]["held"](PGE_CTRL_DOWN) or pge["controls"]["analogy"]() > 50) and doodle["status"] ~= "fallen" then --Increase speed to right doodle["speedy"] = -5 doodle["direction"] = "right"; end
