Is there anything the mods can do about people coming on here and being offensive? Also people asking for iso's, I know it's all in the don's and don't but half of these guys don't even bother to read that, and this forum/site could get shut down because of it. :Argh:
Most of us are here to discuss the great work Fanjita and others have done on the eboot loader, be a same to see that get ruined.
This thread IS large, Under a usernames name and avatar at the bottom part, there is a /!\ sign, this is to report any offending post or flame, or ruining things to a mod/admin, give a reason in the next text box after you click and that will help admins keep track of this easier. =) Hope that helps.Zitat:

Oh ok, my fault for not reading up this time. Cheers for that!
Keep up the great work. I suppose there' sno way to implant the original selection with 1.50 (ie. scrolling through the icons, seeing the backgrounds). I know this is a lot to ask for, and that you are now quite rightly occupied with compatibility, but it would be nice... maybe in 2007? Oh well, I can wait.
Yep, this is on the to-do list, it's not really all that hard to do, but needs some nice graphics for the menu background, and I can't draw to save my life. Anybody feel like coming up with some?Zitat:

Fanjita is a pimp.
So anyway, I'm not exactly a power-user, but I've had plenty of time to play around with Fanjita's EBoot Loader 0.7. All I wanted was to be able to play the new GTA, and still be able to indulge in some quality retrogaming (namely NES, SNES, and Genesis). After spending the last last few night fiddling around with it, here are my observations:
GTA is the nuts.
The 2.0 browser is much better than I thought it would be. This beats browsing on my PDA with its horrible resolution/scrolling. It's also much easier to just start up, check out some sports scores/news, and power down than my laptop.
SNES9xTYL 0.1 is running perfect. Overclocked, frameskip: 1. One of the best features is that you can exit the browser through the option screen and get back to the loader (to access other emulators).
DGEN_PSP001 runs fairly well. Overclocked with frameskip:3 is still a little slow. I can't deal with anything over frameskip:3. I've only gotten .bin files to work (place them in the DGEN folder).
UO_NesterJ v1.07 on EBOOT Loader 0.7 is far from perfect. Don't listen to the people saying it is. It works 1 out of 5 times for me, and I've tried it quite extensively. When you're lucky enough to run a rom successfully, it works perfect.
This could mean nothing, but I also seem to get the loader to run better when I have don't have a UMD loaded. When I have a UMD in there, it seems to freeze more often when I click the loader in the photos menu.
Thanks for all your hard work, Fanjita. I do graphic design for a living (no offense to you kids out there who downloaded photoshop and solely know how to find edges, posterize/threshhold, and composite a man's head onto a woman's body). So if you need some graphics for your menus, shoot me some ideas over e-mail, and hopefully I can find some free time to knock something out.
I just love playing GTA and then playing chronotrigger...I dunno but its so cool to see games i played as a kid (mario, battletoads, double dragons, NBA Jam, etc...) on my psp...Most of those games are way better then any psp game in my opinon
Go with the regular NesterJ, not the "uo" version. :)Zitat:

Rather a temporary solution than none at all, if you want the text removed or any changes/additions, pm me ^^.
-edit, It appears some quality loss came about when saving =(.
that doesnt look like much quality was lost .. if i were you though, i would make the text larger.. its miniscule.Zitat:
Zitat von xxshadowxx
It's very pixelated on parts of it, which wasn't on the original =/.Zitat:

And the Eboot Loader itself has text, so the text in the corner isn't even necessary =P.
can't wait for the next version though =/
Can't wait when Fastloader will work with this..
Ahh. Haha. Thanks, bro. I'm at work, but I have my priorities straight. Gonna load it up right now.Zitat:

I didn't do my research. I just loaded up the emus that someone here had zipped up into a single 2.00-compatible file. I can't wait to get back to playing some old NES games.
I assume (I didn't check) that you saved as JPG. GIF or PNG works better for stuff that includes text, because it's lossless compression.Zitat:

I remember a classic web quiz called "GIF or JPG" - one for the geeks among us, it was surprisingly easy to figure out the answers.
quick question...any way to switch to full screen w/ DGEN 1.00?

Was wondering if Scumm VM works with this as i can't see it in the working or non working lists.
anyone know if Rin works? I don't see it on the list.
Rin v1.32 works on psp eboot loader 0.7.Zitat:

Heretic 0.2 - Doesnt Work (Kernel Mode)
TCGS Car - Doesnt Work
AlexmaePixelFixer - Works (Run with LUA supplied with V0.7)
Is there a working sudoku game yet? Or perhaps a javascript version using the browser?
I looked into the problem of the non working lua player in v0.7
Sometimes it will not start saying something about string "?"]:61...
This seems to be totally random. It worked fine for a couple of days, than all of a sudden it stopped working.
I tried:
- re-installing the entire v0.7
- re-installing just the v0.7 lua player
- using the eboot of the v0.7 lua player and the remaining lua files from the original lua player
None of the above worked. What still does work in loader v0.7 is the v0.6 lua player. From time to time the v0.7 lua player starts working again.
Does anybody have a final solution for this?
P.S.: Some scripts working with v0.7 lua player won't work with v0.6 lua player. In the majority of cases this is due to the usb activation in the lua script. just uncomment the line using --
Well, then again sometimes it helps to do a little research first :)
For all those, who are as stupid as I am:
There is a patch for exactly this problem on fanjitas homepage ;)
Sorry guys...
...and thx again fanjita
The Anime Web Portal app (sorry, I don't have a link) contains a web sudoku, that works fine on 2.0.Zitat:

It's a little painful to use the mouse cursor to select the numbers to enter, but it's better than nothing.
The latest release of heratic doesn't work
Suggest kernal mode app error
Will Snes9x_TYL v0.2c ever work with the eboot loarder?
Maybe, but probably not soon. I've been working on a way to get some of the kernel-mode apps to run - basically, only those that don't really need kernel-mode.Zitat:
Zitat von dman32
Unfortunately it didn't work for SNES9xTYL02. The most interesting thing it worked for was ScummVM, although now that doesn't really matter because the ScummVM team have just published an official v2.0-compatible release.
haha just a bit too late Fanjita. Which programs don't actually need kernel?
Stuff that doesn't need to be in RAM and can just be on-the-fly loading maybe? Just a guess.
no no, I meant the names of the programs so we know what we'll be getting soon.
Heh, yeah. Still, I'd been working with the ScummVM guys so I knew their release was on its way, and would probably be more stable than my hack, so no biggie.Zitat:
Zitat von MetalHeadZaid
I've tested most of the kernel-mode apps listed on the compatibility page, unfortunately this patch only added a few more to the working list, and none of them are on the high priority list:
PSP Chess
Nethack
and of course ScummVM (beta 5).
There may be a few that I missed, of course, but I think I covered the important ones. The type of app that should work is the set that just use kernel-mode for debugging purposes. I'd hoped that was more than this small set, but I guess not.
There's scope for developing this patch some more, because I think there are still some more (especially SDL-based apps) that probably still don't need kernel, but are doing something odd in their initialisation that wasn't happening in my original sample applications. Still, don't hold your breath too much - I came across quite a lot of apps that clearly did need kernel features, where I hadn't expected them, and I think Snes9xTYL was one of them.
Can't wait for you to get FastLoader, UMD Emulator, DEV Hook, and PSPGBA 1.1 running! Great work!
Chess! No more crappy SNES rom lol
If they can get SNESTYL 2c to work I will be very happy.
Unfortunately, it requires Kernel.Zitat:

Can someone confirm that they have managed to get Sony Remote to change a tv channel under 2.0 fimrware.
I have tried it, program loads fine, appears to be working but get no IR signal from the PSP.
I have also tried IRDA capture tool, it reports that it cannot open the irda port?
When will a better Sega Genisis Emu work...im tired of playin sonic on such a tiny screen :-(... And to mee the SNES TYL emu that already works with eboot loader is flawless...its worked just as good as the one i had on my 1.5 psp...
sorry no I can't I checked it out but it did not work,Zitat:
Zitat von c4sper
I think to use the IRDA we should first enter the kernel.
There will be no fastloader no more from the original maker so I hope someone will be continuing his great workZitat:
