What in that app do you think is causing the kernel access? do you think that some of the features included in file assistant might work without it? For example, could the person who made it release the flash player separately and it work on 2.0?

not yet. You see the browser in 2.0 and up doesnt support flash. It may one day in a new update, but for now, this program called file assistant allows you to play downloaded flash, labeled .swf files. I havent had a chance to try it since I recently upgraded to 2.0 and it only works on 1.5 and 1.0. I hope to see a homebrew flash player with full keyboard assignment to certain face buttons, so that someday there may be a sort of "flash game emulator"

Isn't UMD EMU on your banned list because of its links to piracy, fanjita?

It's not banned, just unlikely to work any time soon. Having said that, I'm unlikely to go out of my way to make it work - but if kernel mode ever gets unlocked on 2.0, then I suspect the UMD loaders would work.

Man I wish the new FileAssistant would work. If I did I would upgrade this very moment. It would be cool to have the web browser and the ability to play most of the video files on the internet, which FileAssistant would allow you to do. Thanks for testing it out thought.

And if File Assistant did work then maybe youd be able to run Homebrew EBOOTS using it?

Well another reason that UMD Emulator is a good program is becuz it allows you to run your PSP at 333mhz...i wish i could play GTA at that speed...would be ALOT better

Hmm, not gonna be working for 0.8, there's a very nasty problem with it that's hard to fix.

Spent a few hours already, I have a few ideas to carry on bashing at it, but I don't think I'll hold up v0.8 for it.Using firmware v2.00-v3.50? Open up a whole world of homebrew here

Ah darn. Well, if you can't get it to I'm sure DeNitro could do something about it. He said he didn't want to make it too much trouble for you. He was wondering what things he couldn't use with the 2.0 eboot loader though.

Fanjita... I never really got to thank you for all your hard work you have already put into this project. You're the main reason why homebrew is where it is on firmware 2.0, and I want to take this chance to Thank You for this great peice of code :)
If you ever need help, I'm willing to do whatever I can do keep this project going.

I don't think there's anything much that DeNitro can do about it. The only thing I can think of that an author can do would involve some horrible butchery and
Zitat von BrokenWing
y to the app to try to get certain patterns of bytes in the middle of it. I doubt it would work, even then.
The changes need to happen in the loader, really - I think it basically needs to mutilate some of the PSP's background threads. If I'm right, it could also fix up the background buzzing noises in some EBOOTs - but it might also ruin all WAV sound output... Hard to tell right now, needs a lot of investigation (and that's always painful and time consuming on 2.0).Using firmware v2.00-v3.50? Open up a whole world of homebrew here

I've noticed odd noises getting stuck at the Rin rom list, but frankly Rin itself works in mysterious ways. I can get Mr. Driller to run fine, yet the original tetris freezes and shuts down my psp. This is probably just a rom thing though, I'll try a new one soon, except it took me forever just to find a working tetris out of three websites. The one I currently have works fine on my pc version of the emulator (technically i'm booting the gbc rom in vba, but still, its just a gbc rom, not like I'm trying to run a gba rom on Rin)

I'll just be happy with a clean exit to psp shell, doom snes9xtyl and nesterj are the only homebrews I play all the time, for me clean exit is the only thing that is missing from this incredible loader. fanjita keep up the great work!
