everytime I go to the USER_LUA folder and goto Lowser it does not start even after I try to start its index.lua file (it goes to a black screen for a second then goes back to the Eboot loader) same thing with PSP millionare, ive even tried version 1.0a

Does this mean that you're trying to load the index.lua using the EBOOT loader? If so, then that won't work. You have to load the EBOOT.PBP that's just inside the USER_LUA folder first. That starts Lowser, then you use Lowser to browse to the index.lua you want to start.

ive tried that and everytime I start the EBOOT I get this:

error: [string "?"] : 6 : unexpected symbol near 'a'
Error: No script file found.
Press start to restart

pushing start doesnt work it still gives me the same error

omg i hope someone is on rightnow to answer this. I'm tryin to decide to update to 0.8. all i'm currently running is the snestyl 0.1 and the RIN 1.32. I looked at the first page and where it has the ^^^ I imagine there should be a link to the working eboots on 0.8. I'm thinkin that that long list underneath is still for 0.7 since I've read that 0.8 isn't working that well yet. Is that the right list or not? i just want to know if i can run those to before i update.

don't worry about it, you can keep 0.7 on your psp still! just place the files in the same place, they're called different things, so there is no need to worry. just name the folder in the photo folder eboot loard 0.8 and eboot loader 0.7 so you know which is which when you go to using them. It means you will be able to use most of the things then.

And in response to one or 2 other questions raised, someone had the error 6 string message or something when trying to load up lua player... you can't open lua with eboot loader 0.8, you have to use 0.7 . also pspgenesis 0.18c is the version of megadrive/genesis emulator you want. it works perfect with eboot loader 0.8. i hope that clears somethings up!

it says on the working eboot loader list that avi player works, (which plays divx files appaerently...) but when i tried it, and i assume, that i tried to use the kind of test video clip which came with it, or demo might be a better way of putting it. anyway, i never watched the video on the pc, to double check it works, but it didn't play on the psp more to the point. it loaded the program so you can select the file, but when you try and chose it, ( i only tried the one file) it just freezes . as for a video converter...
you could try xilisoft video converter for the psp, and there are a couple of others. i hope it helps!

Thanks a lot. I was wondering whether or not this was worth downloading the net framework. Havent messed with it since I found out you had to do that. Hope I didn't already delete it; I'd hate to have to dl it again.

By the way, has anyone tested the new DDR game?
Edit: Sorry, just found it it doesnt work from somebody else. Too bad. Looks like 2.0 users are pretty much cut off from the world when it comes to new homebrew.

Glad someone was able to get PSPR working under 2.0. I get a message telling me there's a problem loading one of the sound files.

I've tried, and i cannot get PSPR to work. When i load it, it shuts down -_-
edit: sound file problem with blue screen ;p

To run PSPR, just keep renaming the folder that it is installed in, so that it is different lengths, until it works.

e.g. I tried
/psp/game/pspr
/psp/game/pspre
/psp/game/psprev

until I got to /psp/game/psprevol, which works fine for me. Very nice game, btw.

Same thing happened with PSP Rhythm Composer, I never quite worked out why.

What ver. of the EBOOT loader are you guys using? 0.7 or 0.8??
i've tried using 0.8 and it boots to a black screen and after 5 seconds it crashes

Go back a page. Fanjita claims you can get it to work by renaming it just right, and he explains what he did to get it working for him. Im going to try it in a little bit myself.

Yeah, I know, it's not working... no matter what I do it just goes black and crashes.

EDIT: W00T!!!! Needed the l_08 patch, working now

Extract it to ( X= pspdrive)
extract the whole thing to a folder on pc
copy - 1.5\PSPR and sub folders to -
X:\PSP\GAME
Its the only way i can get it to work(1.5\PSPR are folders from the package)

You can't run ISOs on v2.0. Please read the FAQ before posting.

If sony does allow homebrew, this would be the best way to allow it. Just in user-mode, no kernal mode allowed. Then they would be happy because they wouldn't have to worry about kernal-mode being accessed and us having ISO loaders, and we would be happy for having homebrew.
