*Official* PSP 2.00 Working Homebrew Discussion

If sony does allow homebrew, this would be the best way to allow it. Just in user-mode, no kernal mode allowed. Then they would be happy because they wouldn't have to worry about kernal-mode being accessed and us having ISO loaders, and we would be happy for having homebrew.

That was actually the idea I had, let us have access to user mode but not kernel to make sony happy...and who knows...it might happen. Sony's been getting alot of trouble for their recent "protection" attempts on different products. Heard what's happened to them recently? A recent CD protection they and another company came up with, which was a bit too extreme of a measure, is getting them 7 class-action lawsuits AT ONCE.

Hey Fanjita i heard you got SNES9xTYL 0.2c working on the next iteration of the loader? Great job man! Now the only thing i want from this loader, and it's a small thing, is a direct exit to the XMB.

You know what? Having something is better then them eventually blocking everything all together if they keep this up. Besides...I never said that was my only idea...the other was to perhaps just allow Wi-Fi function and the like under user mode without having to load libraries from the system kernel. That'd allow wifi, ect. under user mode and still keep the UMD area of it under lock and key. And by the way. Anyone ever tell you calling others dumb is rude? Besides. I've been called pretty much every insult in the book already. If you really have to insult me, please think up something more creative than dumb.

Alright then. And yes a "homebrew mode" Would probably attract more attention...but either way It's doubtful Sony will do anything...they don't seem to be showing much intelligence these days (an example of which being a CD protection that installs a file to your computer that they didn't test enough to know viruses could hijack it...then not realize that it's difficult to uninstall. Really, you try uninstalling that protection on your own and it may cause your cd drive to cease functioning)...and as for the "dumb" thing. Alright then. After what I've been through, being insulted by way of "dumb" was actually insulting all it's own. I'll just have to pretend it was a better insult. Heh :P You can tell someones lost their mind to an extent if they're insulted because an insult wasn't enough of an insult to be an insult to them.

hmm, from what I have read in this thread 2 other people have been unable to get pce .7 working. I have the .8 loader and patch, and it crashes when I start it with red letters at the top, and goes back to the loader menu.

psprevolution works fine with m, just rename the folder to PSPREVOL

dgen 1.10c works the newest loader.
I'm about to check 1.11

well it seems to not be working anymore, I did re-added all of the loader files re-writing the current ones and it loaded again but froze on the selection screen .

Is the newest file assistant working? I cant download it until tomorrow. Best I could do is download it directly to my psp via wifi, and I'd have to unrar it and put all the folders where they go.

In Version 7 of the Loader I was able to get the Atari Lynx emulator Handy to work perfectly. However, it doesn't work in Version 8.

I noticed in the list of working eboots that PSpectrum was listed as working in both version 7 and 8 of the loader. But I haven't been able to get it to work! Grateful if someone can provide any useful tips or advice on getting PSpectrum to work.
