Just tested the latest DGen 1.20 and it doesn't seem to work
... Fortunately there's PSPGenesis..
Wish devs coded with 2.0 in mind (heard it's a pain though)... Well it's not a perfect world and we must be grateful for what we have...
P.S.: Also hope this thread will be cleaned up when 0.9 arrives, so we have a simple list of working homebrew without having to see hundreds of posts (maybe it could be in the first page and it would be updated by a single mod or dev). We would continue to be able to post but all the new info about working/nonworking homebrew would be in the first post

That is still a great source for the official info, but it would be nice if someone updated a list like in a dayly or weekly basis (I do agree it could be hard work to filter all post and verify if they're accurate)
Edit:
Forget what I said... I haven't checked out the site for some time (have been using the forum for news since those bandwidth problems you were having) :o
That does seem to cover it... And it's really easy and quick to use. Nice :icon_biggGeändert von frmariam (12-01-2005 um 05:55 PM Uhr)

OK some questions about this EBOOT loader for 2.0 users
1. If it can't run kernal mode applications, that means wi-fi, usb, etc. Does that mean if I put this on my PSP that I will Never be able to use my browser or access my memory card via USB, etc?
2. If I put this loader on my PSP, is it possible to go back to my original Sony Firmware with no hassle?
3. Threats?
4. Which emulators run best?
Thanks fellas-

1. no, u can use all your psp's features, it will not block out usb.etc
the kernal mode applications are homebrew that are in kernal, most of these cannot be played by the eboot loader.
2.The eboot loader does not take over your psp, you can do everything u could do before u load it on e.g. videos, music and internet browser.
you choose to turn on the eboot loader, it will not load automatically so you can still use your psps menu.
3. there are no major threats on this loader, the worst thing that could happen is that your psp could hang, but if this happens you could just restart your psp, there are no after effects of hanging (that i know of).
4. The best emulators that work on 2.0 is:
Snes9xtyl 2c (super nintendo) the link is here: http://files.pspupdates.qj.net/cgi-b...0,0,0,0,4,1136
and also...
PSPGENESIS (sega genesis or Megadrive) 0.18c: http://files.pspupdates.qj.net/cgi-b...0,0,0,0,35,936
and...
Rin Gameboy Color Emulator: http://files.pspupdates.qj.net/cgi-b...0,0,0,0,3,1130
The creator of the loader is Fanjita, this is the official website: www.fanjita.org/psp.html
To see what's working or not check here: http://www.fanjita.org/content/psp_working.html
(allow about 8 seconds for the data to appear).Geändert von Fanjita (12-03-2005 um 06:46 AM Uhr) Grund: minor URL correction

to start with, you do not change the oringinal sony firmware, however you do need firmware version 2.0 , this loader will not work with any other firmware. if you have anything above that version, you CANNOT use it, and if you have the version below, make sure you upgrade only to 2.0 and no higher.
which emulators run best, well if you have had a look at fanjita's website you would know...but just for the sake of making things easier they are, snes tyl 0.2c (snes emulator) , pspgenesis 0.18c ?? (sega genesis) rin 1.32 (for game boy colour. you will of course be able to use the web browser and everything else on the psp. it's only no one has been able to hack the kernal, which means no homebrew wifi, usb apps will work. all the official apps are not affected.

Well since most of my uploads expired due to inactivity and since we are now allowed to link to DCemu I won't upload them ;D
For FileAssistant up to 0.04 (latest working in eLoader) check here.
For FileAssistant 1.0 check here .
For FileAssistant++ (contest version) check here.
I suggested basic file management to be integrated in the eboot loader itself, so if you are interested you can check out here (you can get 0.04 there too):
FileAssistant Request
Also if any coder is interested in deving FileAssistant to fw 2.0 (boost the interface in FA 0.04, remove flash access and maybe deving it into a Choice plugin) download the source here . I guess it's fine to dev it (open source) as long as the due credits are given to the autors :icon_winkGeändert von frmariam (03-29-2006 um 12:52 PM Uhr)

yep, once you have got one or 2 games or emulators working you won't want to stop! you'll soon find it's as easy as pie, just make sure the things you get are from trusted sources, (ie pspupdates) and not p2p networks or torrent sites. most of the people who use them don't know what the file does and quite likely that they contain viruses.
don't worry, it's all safe from this website!
