I'll make a guide.. ROFL
yet still my one doesnt work :/
Timbo400's Guide to getting "Homebrew 2.01+ GTA EBoot Loader working"
Ok here is what you need:
-
A PSP with firmware 2.00+ (This guide is mainly for 2.01+ users as 2.00 already has a eboot loader)
-
A Memory Stick with at least one normal GTA gamesave on it (Well if you don't have one, your fu*ked altogether rofl)
-
USB cable to connect your PSP to your PC (To transfer files DUH!)
-
GTA Liberty City: Stories -
This game is also required to launch the eboot loader as there is a gamesave "loophole"
-
The 2.0 eLoader for v2.00, v2.01 and v2.50 PSP's created by Fanjita (Thanks alot!) -
Here is the link Eboot loader for 2.01+ PSPs
-
And some homebrew for it, in this guide I will be using the "Uo_Snes9x" -
Link is here -
Snes9x Emulator
-
Also you may need "roms" (the stuff that the emulator uses to play games), I cannot post any of that here, but you can look it up or so
Starting:
1.First connect your PSP to your PC (If your stick hasn't been in sony psp format, which is where there are the psp folders, exam psp/game or psp/savedata, it is recommended you make them to make this guide a little easier for those noobs out there)
2. After you have downloaded all the files needed for you PSP you must determine what version your GTA is UK, US or the other one I don't know, really this doesn't matter i think, just unzip the files from the rar file that you downloaded (the eboot file) and then copy all the files into your psp
(The files/folders are "psp", lmao just copy that and paste it into your psp directory, so it looks like this "x*:/psp" * is the drive that the psp is called, on my PC it is "H")
3. After this what has happened is that since you unzipped/unrarred the files from the eboot file you downloaded, the files are "fresh" and so what happened was that these "fresh" files will be the first to load when GTA loads, you do not want this to happen! So what I did was copy one of my normal GTA save folders onto my desktop then zipped/rarred it and then unzip/unrar it to make them "fresher" than those eboot files (this may sound slow but it gets the job done, and trust me it only takes 5 seconds :D) then after the normal GTA files are unzipped just paste them back where they should be! (Your game will not be affected in anyway! it's just the files dates are renewed)
4. Unzip/unrar those snes files! then what you need to do is go to your psp's game directory on your PC (x:/psp/game/) and create the folder "SNESEMU" so the directory looks like this
"PSP\Games\SNESEMU" (Can it be "PSP\Games\snes9x"?)
Then also make a folder called "roms" in it so the directory now goes deeper and looks like this
"PSP\Games\SNESEMU\ro ms"
Then paste that rom that you
own into the directory so it looks like this
"PSP\Games\SNESEMU\roms\r om.smc" (Can you paste zip files?)
5. Now you can remove your PSP from your PC, insert the GTA LC:S UMD into your PSP and run it, hopefully if you have done it correctly your normal GTA saved game will load, if it hasn't re-read and re-follow from step 3.
Now press start and press right till you highlight "game" then press "X" and open "Load Game", scroll down till you find "Fanjita's E-boot Loader" GTA save. Press "X" and the e-boot should load (If it doesn't redo this guide again till it does work), then a background with a white psp should show up and on the left in text "Snes9x emulator" (Something like that) should show up. Press "X" and your emulator should work.
If your PSP freezes and turns off from here you have the same problem I have, if it works you are a lucky *******.
Thank you for taking your time to read this
