Im a little confused. The currently working eboot loader list for 2.01/2.50 includes the Snes emulator, that I get, but does this mean since the emulator works - snes roms will also? I just need that cleared up before I get excited about this current step...

I just downloaded the eloader for my us version of gta:lcs but when i start it I always get the error " could not open eboot.pbp"
Where should i put the eboot file?
Or is the japanese 1.5 eboot uncompatible?
lmao for my first post..
ill put this into detail so you know my problem
Anyway I've installed the GTA 2.5 eboot loader on my psp correctly
(X:psp/game/, and the save game (my psp is 2.5, and GTA is UK, im australian)
So then I put the snesx recommended by fanjita (from his site) into:
"X:psp/game/snes9x" (There is only one file needed? the eboot.php?)
But then after loading everything properly the screen goes blank (black) and my psp freezes for about 10 seconds then turns off.
Sequence of what happens:
GTA loads>i load GTA ebootloader>load snes9x>psp blank>psp shuts down
also have i installed the roms correctly?
"x:psp/game/snes9x/roms"
thank you in future and thankyou to fanjita, ditlew and all others that contribute to the homebrew scene

I'm having the exact same problem as timbo. I load the GTA eboot loader then load snesx9 and it just shuts off. It did this before I even had snesx9 on there when I was just testing it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
sorry but I think this is the problem from the majority of users
Damn, that sucks.. At least its not just me doing something wrong like I orginally thought
Doing the same to me too.
After unzipping the SNES emulator into the PSP folder I put the game madden98.smc into the PSP\Games\SNESEMU folder and it Loads. Time to keep on testing more games . Thanks
USA Psp 2.01 GTA USA
^ what emulator are you using (can you post version and stuff, emulator type 9x or tyltc what ever that **** is) thanks!
i thought it was "psp/game/snes9x" because i read the .cfg of the eboot loader and it said that :/
Is yours still shutting off timbo? I know I've done everything right but it just keeps shutting off
I downloaded Uo_Snes9x from http://files.pspupdates.qj.net/cgi-b...0,0,0,0,4,1093 and put the .pbp file in the correct directory. Where do I get the save game for GTA, or how do I make one or whatever, so that I can launch SNES9X?![]()
Please help.
edit: Oh yeah, and I have a 2.01 PSP. Will this even work with that firmware?

You have to actually have GTA
I do.Originally Posted by JCam

FFS
I'll make a guide.. ROFL
yet still my one doesnt work :/
Timbo400's Guide to getting "Homebrew 2.01+ GTA EBoot Loader working"
Ok here is what you need:
- A PSP with firmware 2.00+ (This guide is mainly for 2.01+ users as 2.00 already has a eboot loader)
- A Memory Stick with at least one normal GTA gamesave on it (Well if you don't have one, your fu*ked altogether rofl)
- USB cable to connect your PSP to your PC (To transfer files DUH!)
- GTA Liberty City: Stories - This game is also required to launch the eboot loader as there is a gamesave "loophole"
- The 2.0 eLoader for v2.00, v2.01 and v2.50 PSP's created by Fanjita (Thanks alot!) - Here is the link Eboot loader for 2.01+ PSPs
- And some homebrew for it, in this guide I will be using the "Uo_Snes9x" - Link is here - Snes9x Emulator
- Also you may need "roms" (the stuff that the emulator uses to play games), I cannot post any of that here, but you can look it up or so
Starting:
1.First connect your PSP to your PC (If your stick hasn't been in sony psp format, which is where there are the psp folders, exam psp/game or psp/savedata, it is recommended you make them to make this guide a little easier for those noobs out there)
2. After you have downloaded all the files needed for you PSP you must determine what version your GTA is UK, US or the other one I don't know, really this doesn't matter i think, just unzip the files from the rar file that you downloaded (the eboot file) and then copy all the files into your psp
(The files/folders are "psp", lmao just copy that and paste it into your psp directory, so it looks like this "x*:/psp" * is the drive that the psp is called, on my PC it is "H")
3. After this what has happened is that since you unzipped/unrarred the files from the eboot file you downloaded, the files are "fresh" and so what happened was that these "fresh" files will be the first to load when GTA loads, you do not want this to happen! So what I did was copy one of my normal GTA save folders onto my desktop then zipped/rarred it and then unzip/unrar it to make them "fresher" than those eboot files (this may sound slow but it gets the job done, and trust me it only takes 5 seconds) then after the normal GTA files are unzipped just paste them back where they should be! (Your game will not be affected in anyway! it's just the files dates are renewed)
4. Unzip/unrar those snes files! then what you need to do is go to your psp's game directory on your PC (x:/psp/game/) and create the folder "SNESEMU" so the directory looks like this
"PSP\Games\SNESEMU" (Can it be "PSP\Games\snes9x"?)
Then also make a folder called "roms" in it so the directory now goes deeper and looks like this
"PSP\Games\SNESEMU\ro ms"
Then paste that rom that you own into the directory so it looks like this
"PSP\Games\SNESEMU\roms\r om.smc" (Can you paste zip files?)
5. Now you can remove your PSP from your PC, insert the GTA LC:S UMD into your PSP and run it, hopefully if you have done it correctly your normal GTA saved game will load, if it hasn't re-read and re-follow from step 3.
Now press start and press right till you highlight "game" then press "X" and open "Load Game", scroll down till you find "Fanjita's E-boot Loader" GTA save. Press "X" and the e-boot should load (If it doesn't redo this guide again till it does work), then a background with a white psp should show up and on the left in text "Snes9x emulator" (Something like that) should show up. Press "X" and your emulator should work.
If your PSP freezes and turns off from here you have the same problem I have, if it works you are a lucky *******.
Thank you for taking your time to read this

Just a quick question about the eLoader...
Since this is the first time I ever used something like this, I just want to know that if I set the CPU clock higher (like 333MHz), will this damage the PSP? Or will it just make my battery not last as long?

And yes because it is @ a higher clock rate it WILL use more energy up (in this case battery power)
My psp was turning itself off when I just had eLoader installed, then I copied over Snes9x and it works fine.
YAY!!
2.01 EU PSP, GTA:LCS EU
^ can you tell us abit more info?
what version of snes9x are you using? also can you provide links?
and show us the folders you made
also any small things u did
EDIT: *******s drop by saying "yay it works! rofl cya!" and dont help out.. if your gonna do that dont post at all bandwidth wasters
Hi guys, this is the first time i post in this forums, first of all i want to say thanks to fanjita and all the guys behind this.
Well,i want some help because i have a japanese v2.5 psp and when i try to run the snes9x emulator my PSP shuts down
I did the installation following the readme,i have
...PSP/GAMES/SNES9x/... and it doesn't work :Argh: .
PS:sorry about my bad english![]()
It works on my Australian PSP.
First COPY (ctrl+c) all the files in the GAME directory in the eLoader into the GAME directory on the psp
Next do the same for the SAVEDATA files and remember that
ULES00182S for German GTA
ULUS10041S for US GTA
ULES00151S for EU GTA
(Remember to copy, not drag and drop)
Then Extract the uo_Snes9x_002y32.rar and COPY the uo_Snes9x_002y32 inside it straight into the GAME folder on your psp and then run GTA and it should work.
(If this doesn't work try saving one of your GTA savegames so it doesn't load the eLoader when GTA starts and then just load it like a normal save file)
Got it working on mine. When you load up the gamesave with the eLoader, where it says are you sure you want to load the gamesave all data will be lost. Wait about 20 seconds before clicking yes. When i did this it loaded up the SnesEmu without a problem. If i Click yes instantly the Eboot loader comes up but I cant load up the Emu
Holy crap, this thread is noob-freaking-tacular.
oh,holly **** ! this works!! thank you very much!Originally Posted by Adam19
