Choice+ for eLoader

Mouse is being placed back into choice, it was in on some 0Axx builds and was removed, it now has a purpose so it has been put back into Choice+, lite will not have a mouse, only Choice+

Planed roadmap for Choice+

v1.0.8 is worlds apart from 1.0.7

1.0.8 will use threads, mouse, clickable icons, animated battery level for charging and low on charge, saving of selected backdrop etc.

v1.0.9 animated backdrops

Choice+ lite : end of life (will go open source)

v1.1.0 custom fonts

v1.5.0 file manager

v2.0.0 last Choice+

v1.0.0 Choice eXtreame (OS Shell for eLoader)
eXtream is a long way off and anythink could happen during the development of Choice+, so eXtream will only become a reality if the PSP homebrew is just as strong as today, when the time comes for eXtream

I tried to put a .tga file in my PHOTO directory and yes, it fixed the problem. However, upon exiting the PHOTO back to the main menu then to GAMES, the previous viewed .tga file became my background in the GAMES window. Is this natural? Anyway, I don't really see it a problem since the background reset to default from reboot (soft/hard reboot). I am now excited for the release of v1.0.8. Again, thanks for making this possible.

By the way, I'd like you to see the customization I made. I can email the files if you want. Hope you like it.

the compatability and the interface of the newest developer build is soo much better - but is there any chance that pspradio, psp gba and a couple of other things will work in the next build? i hav 2 say xart, this rocks, keep the excellent work! one day it will b like psp oss or artillery shell, that will kick ass! :D

technicaly it is compatible, however the only ones that doesn't crash is choice+ lite v1.0.4

ive had problems with choice lite.. its been to slow and when i put on different types of hb it wouldnt load.. ive just returned to the normal one..may look better but..

if you like the latest dveloper build sam_w, just wait for the next one, it is mouse driven, just a few glitches to ion out befor i email it

I still havn't used this, so I guess it's about time I have. I'm dieing to see what all the rage is about.

Just put this on now, it looks good, I like the way you have the catogrising thing.

Just the USB to get working again. the thread for the mouse killed the backdrop selection and usb.

Xart, I already emailed the files at [email protected]. Is there any release date now for the v1.0.8 of Choice+? Can't wait to try it in my PSP.

OK. The red stripe actually looks good when viewed in PSP, it's transparent. Anyway, I'll get rid of it then resend you the tga file. Did you received my email already?

By the way, I included a template (.psd) in the email so that anyone with adobe photoshop can make use of it with their own choice of Background.

So what I could do if you all whant it now is release 1.0.8 BETA
Please note that USB is disabled due to work on it, also YUV & YUVA have not yet been fully implimented and also disabled.

Latest build 1A26 is now fully working, just YUV & YUVA format to add then it will be released as 1.0.8

If you read previos page of this thread there is a little run down of what we can expect in 1.0.8 and further small little snippet of what we can expect in future versions.

Xart has done such a great job with choice and from where i am sitting it can only seem to get better and better, Xart i don't mean to be naggy, any standpoint on whether we may be able to edit the menu names, instead of puzzle etc.? if not no worries if yes then even better. if not sure and you wanna tell me to stop bugging you then go ahead :P

USB works great for me on 1.0.7

USB has allways worked on public releases, it was the developer builds of 1.0.8 were USB became broken when the mouse & thread was added.

It all now works and onece the last thing is added it will be getting released to the public,

how ever you could email [email protected] with the Subject BUILD TESTER and get your hands on the latest builds

Custom Categoarys are being looked into and whant to know if you whant age icons kept or replaced with small game icons

they is a way to replace the age icon, you could have it when it has a icon.info file it has large=somefile and small=somefile
and if has small icon it would overide the age icon, so yoou could have it do this if you whanted.

it would not be hard to add

personally i like the age icons, think it add a cool look but i suppose if you could easily implament it into an icon.info file than it couldn't hurt to add it. I'd just say make sure when its done that user don't have to put in the icon.info file with every single eboot if they don't want to overwrtie the age icons. Greatto hear Custom Cats is being looked into, thank for your hard work Xart.

OK, I will make an new icon entery in the pegi.info file to allow custom age icons to be used instead of the ones suplyed by PEGI, that way they don't have to be age icons and could be somethink else instead.

also I was thinking about making choice+ more flexible with the category, one idea was to add new categorys if the category in the pegi.info file was not in the list.

could be easy to do, could be more work involved, but am looking into it

also am planning to generate pegi.info file automaticaly for those eboots without the files.

yeah generating automatically would be a good idea, for those who are new to homebrew and are not really into customization etc. would greatly help them out in installation aswell.

OK, I have added the ability to change the default age icon, all you will have to do is add an age.tga 32x32 file only, no need to edit the pegi.info file at all, if a age.tga file is found it will load it in.

a 32x32 index colour or grayscale is all you need, you can have 24 or 32bit, but it would only just increase loading times and increase file size with no real advatage

I've got a feature request. I, as well as some of the others here, have redone the interface to my own liking, but I wanted to know if there was anyway to impliment some sort of skin choice option. Such as, in the resources folder, making a subfolder for each skin and being able to choose between them. Just something to mull over, would kick ass it was doable though. :Punk:

I have allready planed for that and it will one day be added, it will be introduced as a .rsc file, and this will allow choice to reload all resources in one go.

hey xart the new build is wicked! i like the inclusion of mouse emulation, but is it just me or is the mouse rreeaally slowww. can you change the sensitivity or something? keep up the hard work :D

I could speed up the mouse up by moving in bigger steps, or posibly slowly accelerate the movment

You need at least one tga file in you photo directory else it will freeze, i will be putting this small isue wright in 1.0.8 Release

after 15 days, choice+ has evolved so quickly and updated in such a short time, this is due that Choice+ is written in C++ not C and you will see Choice+ get updated every day or two as time gose by.

and in 1.0.8 is the foundations for Choice eXtream a full OS type navigation for launching homebrew and managing files

So if you like choice to end up turning into eXtream, just keep on thinking of new things that can be added to Choice+ and one day it will get there

Just promise to never make us pay for it. :D

what about a media player and possibly a umd launcher? ideas like these will gradually make it more and more like some of the shells u get on 1.5. and back to the thing about the mouse, could u hav an options menu with things like mouse sensitivity, skin chooser and some other options that wud save 2 a .cfg file or sumthin? i hope one day u can implement these features in :D

1.0.8 will not be using the key, and when 1A29 build is emailed (v1.0.8 Preview) you can delete your key as it will be out as i now have an acurate count how many are using it and how big the demand they is for it now.

I did say that this would happen on a major update version of Choice+ and it is time now to do so as this a major update despite the it indecation a revishion update.

the developer key will still be used to unlock any hidden parts in Choice+ that are still getting worked on.

I got a REAL problem here...
none of my eboots work....well...quake V2 and luaplayer do, they have a icon.tga, the rest doesn't...so i copied my icon.tga from quake to my pspradio folder hoping it would work, but i doesn't, like the rest of my eboots :sad:

Wait for 1.0.8, mean while check to make sure you don't have any % folders.

Do you by % folders mean...downloaded 1.5 versions where i just put the folder without the % inn the game directory, in stead of a 1.0 eboot? :neutral:

next week at the very latest, just redone the mouse so it now slowly increases in speed, bit like a laptop dose
