After a long hard think, I have desided not to develope Choice+ lite any more.
v1.0.7 is the last version of Choice+ lite.
All development will go into Choice+
What about us 2.60 users? :dry:Zitat:
Zitat von xart
Choice+ lite will be riped out of Choice+ code, other words seperated, then it will be tested to make sure it still works and improved a little then released as open source
this will give me more time for some new cool psp apps for eLoader
a Lua Player only menu is one of the projects I am looking at doing.
does this mean no 2.6 compatibility?
I think it would be awesome if you could incorporate a LUA PLayer menu itno Choice+, condensing all your programs into one!Zitat:
Zitat von xart
it is allready being done, also emulators
Choice+ will be worked on to make it 2.6 compatible
xart do the lua player and emulator icons work yet, if they do, how do u make them work? i understand what the lua player icon will do, but what will the emulator icon do? nice new ideas, i wud hav never thought of any of these :D
not yet, they will in 1.0.8 Preview and the way it works is a desktop screen with icons and the name that gose with each one, emulators will work in the same way, an icon for every emulator eboot file.
for lua it saves the selected lua file and loads up luaplayer, bypassing the need for lowser
all mouse & dpad driven
This is an all new way of browsing and is so fast, i am havinng trouble slowing it down, never thought I would have this problem, but I am not complaining as it gives me plenty of CPU power to play with.
LuaPlayer Selection in Choice+ is allmost finished off and will use the same code for emulators so to all Build Testers, you should be getting it soon.
Xart..one last thing...please don't go like every Lua shell and make it mouse driven...I'm looking for that awesome looking functional d-pad selection like you have to also select LUA apps. Not a mouse, which makes you go down to the analog stick, and quite frankly, would make it just like every other shell out there.Zitat:

i was using build 1A28 of choice+ and to see if the backdrop icon worked i used the normal eloader loadmenu.tga it loaded fine and worked. i then deleted it from the photo directory and now whenever i load choice up the box that shows when it loads stays in the the background with black around it, the menu is there and you can load games but it goes really buggy, the mouse goes rele fast, and wherever i move it, it leaves a trail. wats up with that?
If choice dose not have a backdrop it will never clear the screen for the next redraw of the screen.
UPDATE
Choice+ 1A29 is close to being completed, I am testing the lua selection menu and it is working great on my PSP firmware 2.00,
So work is now being done on the emulators and if things go well there, you should get it emailed to you soon for testing
can you make a new thread when you release that version, currently 50 pages isn't very user friendly :P
Xart what do you think of my idea, when the file manager thing is working ok, is there any chance you could implement a media player? If it is possible could you make it like PSP PlayerMT?? That would be awesome, both audio file support and video file support!!! :Punk::Punk::Punk:
Any skins made for 1.0.7 will have to be added on for 1.0.8 as it has more graphic files, these new graphic files load when needed and destroyed when not, also all memory on exit from Choice+ by returning to the PSP or running a eboot is freed back up, Choice+ will use as much memory the PSP has got, but never will tie it up, it will allways be freed back up by Choice+ and eLoader will make sure it is freed up as well.
also the MenuBackground will be removed, and background renamed to backdrop
MenuBackground can easly be added to start.gfx file if you whanted
No license key file is needed, so you can delete that key you have
how many whant the option of the splash screen taken out.
I would like the option to take the splash screen out. It looks cool the first time, but after returning from an EBOOT and having to go through that again and again it gets annoying. Also the eye is kinda creepy.Zitat:

This will be looked at at a much later date.Zitat:

personally i like the splashscreen but if you take it out i wouldnt be too botherd, it makes for a good screen though while loader loads up the apps iyour game folder.
i dont really mind about the splash screen - it looks cool and doesnt take very long to load. and on the normal eloader if u have quite alot of homebrew it takes a while to display. so its just like that but looks cooler.
ive got a couple of important questions:
do u have to hav lua player on ur psp to load stuff from the lua icon and where do you put the lua game u want to load?
and most importantly, are u gonna b able 2 sort out the stuff that kick u back to the choice screen like psp gba, pspradio and psplayermt because its annoyin havin 2 switch 2 the normal bock 2 use them. thx alot plz answer these qs xart! u rock :D
can you email me the psp bga you are using so I can test it out, also you have to have the lua player in the default location in the game folder luaplayer
all the apps go into Applications folder, so it is using the default setup of luaplayer,
I could include it into choice
ok i will email you my psp gba 1.1 when im at my pc 2morrow. and do you think you will be able to get pspradio and psplayermt working as well? thx try and get them working
I will be posting a Choice+ mini, this will be a small cutdown version of Choice+ that will be disigned for 2.6 users
BETA 1 will be for downloading soon, it will be a very simple menu, with a new unique eboot navigation
Yay it will be nice to see one that works on 2.60
Cool! Though I'm still sticking at v2.0, it would be nice that I can opt to upgrade in the future.
Xart, I already tested the patch for restoring default backdrop. Haven't tried the % patch yet. I don't have any % folder in my memory stick that it beats the purpose. Any news regarding the Lua Player and Emulators feature of Choice 1.0.8? Thanks.
For users of Choice+, mini will also work for other firmware, it is a project to find out where the issue is that prevents Choice+ from working on 2.6
Update on 1.0.8 Preview
One more patch for it will be given out that is to allow the genre list to be customized, also be introducing a Lua restore option to switch basck to the lua lowser app.
I am also looking into getting lua to return back to Choice+
awesome news cheers Xart for not giving up on us 2.6ers thanks dude.
As requested here is my PSP GBA: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FKPWHE7M, see if you can get it working :D
dont worry i tried the newest one psp gba v0.01 and it works but for some reason when i try to load it through the gba icon in the emulator menu it says could not open eboot do u know what the problem is? and hav u sorted out y things like pspradio and psplayermt dont work cos its really bugging me. thx alot xart :D
I will be looking at it now and hope to solve it soon.
OK GBA is fixed, I have made a mod to the emulator resource files and the eboot, but the genre list is not showing up, it is loaded in but not display so I busy fixing it and then be sending the fixed eboot
Xart do you have an estimate of when the test build of Choice mini will be sent to me?
As soon as Choice+ 1.0.8 Final is released to the public I will be quickly extracting the new menu navigation from Choice+ and compile a mini version to test on 2.6 PSPs
xart i got a different version of psp gba v0.01 and that works. its only the icon in the emulator section that doesnt work for it. can you please get pspradio and psplayermt working? i would really appreciate it, i can post them tomorrow after school (:<) if you want? plz hav a go
they was a bug in the emulation section but that was just not showing all emulators listed, if you had 6 it would show only 5, if you has 3 it would show 2, that has been fixed, als the limit is 6 for now.
OK you can now have your own genre list the way you whant it, it now working and so is the emulator for gba, but failed in the normal menu so it looks like I have located the bug in the game menu.
so if i post my pspradio and psplayermt will you try and fix them to work?
yes, but my email server is not responding so not sure when I will get the emails,
you could use the [email protected] backup email
wouldnt it be easier for me to upload them to megaupload or somethin and then post the links?
yes.
Please not the web server is down so you will not be able to access the website or send emails to me at the xart.co.uk email addresses, for now use the old xbrush email if you need to email anythink
nice work :)
