Guys, I got Quake on CD, I have put all the files in the ID1 folder, but it dont work, where is the pak file?

momagic.. if u got it on cd .. i think u just put the disk on and go to my comuter and put the disk adn in the ID1 folder theres pak1 and 0 .. use them.. if there not on cd u g2 instsll quake

Can anyone make a custom control config for me?
The controls i would like are:

ATTACK: RTRIGGER
CHANGE WEAPON: LTRIGGER
JUMP/ SWIM UP: TRIANGE
WALK FORWARD: UP ARROW
BACKPEDAL: DOWN ARROW
TURN LEFT: LEFT ARROW
TURN RIGHT: RIGHT ARROW
STEP LEFT SQUARE
STEP RIGHT: CIRCLE
ANALOG NUB: FREE LOOK

while playing quake i got this error "overflow without allow overflow set" then it crashed my psp. Do we not need an overflow for a downgrader? But i realise it might not work as it is an overflow through the GTA exploit therefore no kernal access.

anyone got any idea what this was?

could someone help me am firmware 2.6 and i got quake but when I got on multyplayer screen i turn infracture mode on then I choose join game but then it always says error no server found I have tried this for about 3 dayds and it wont work also some people say that wi-fi doesnt work on fw 2.6.

Could anyone help me out?

Wow, I have been reading through this thread and I have seen some truely weird configs!! Seriously guys (especially those who are requesting configs), are you really thinking out what is going to be the easiest and fastest controls possible?

Therefore, I have included my configs for you. Try it out, I am sure that you will love it. It allows for fast response and moving/firing at the same time. We are never going to be able to compete with the PC quake guys, but I believe that this config is your best shot. Someone else may have already released a similar config, I am unsure. This is simply a modified version of the multiplayer config (has all the server browsers and that stuff built in).

First, back up your quake directory, so if you mess anything up you can restore it to your known working version. Then, download the file, and extract ALL of the files into your "ID1" folder (So that they are in the same place as your .pak files).

The controls are:

Analoge nub - Free look
Left Trigger - Jump
Right Trigger - Fire
Triangle - Forward
Cross - Backwards
Square - Strafe Left
Circle - Strafe Right
DPad Down - Change weapon
DPad Up - Zoom

I left the Jetpack and Hook controls in - You wont be able to use them in the shareware version, but they wont hurt anything

DPad Left - Jetpack
DPad Right - Hook

Try them out and let me know what you think! Dont forget to change your player name - Open up the autoexec.cfg in notepad, scroll down to where you see:

name "Rename"

Then change 'Rename' to whatever you want... For example:

// USER NAME SETTING
name "n00bey"

for freelook I changed the (default) line:

Exactly. Even in Single player you get owned if you stand still to fire.

Seriously, the guy at Sony who came to the PSP ideas meeting and said "The best choice is to only have 1 analog nub and 2 shoulder buttons" should be slapped. In the face. With a car. Hard.

When you turn infrastructure on, go back to the main menu (Circle multiple times)
Press select twice (Should see a chat interface, and then another interface), press the left trigger. At this screen press Square to go to the "PSP Server".

Just to give you a heads up, If anyone is using the Eloader 0.9.7 Bock Alternative version, PSP Quake is not supported on it, It simply will not run PSP Quake unless you use the original 0.9.7.

Nevermind, It does work, had to use the new version of Quake.

Mine (Quake v2.0) just works fine on both the original and now Alternative version.

after I conncected to the server, the Message "e4m2.bsp not found" is displayed :/

Have I to use the Full-Version?

On my 32MB Stick only the Shareware Version fit :/

Or can I decrease the Full-Version down to 32MB ?
