Select for PSP

Hi there just got the latest download missed the earlier one, was too busy.
When you go to the context menu via square button and choose favourites, the eboot doesn`t appear in the favourite folder. I`m not sure wether it supposed to be fully functioning right now or if its in the process.

The menu with about choice, PSP status and restart PSP all seem to be working OK. The last sony psp option just turns my psp off.

Also the drifting cursor seems to be happening less frequent, don`t know if you did any coding for that but it seem to be better.

Just found that the Start button doesn`t take you back to the Sony menu like it used to, is the Sony PSP option supposed to be replacing that ?

I keep editing this, any way the Sony PSP option just started working and exiting back to the main Sony menu.

Please note that deleting a folder deletes all file and folder with files + other sub sub sub folder with files, yes you say delete folder and no matter what you have in it, it's gone, so don't make a mistake else it will be gone

To all, . have issues on window machines, well it is windows after all
Mac's use these as hidden files/folders and is great for browsing the ms on a mac as you will not nomally see . files/folders so it looks cleaner and don't get in the way

but it can be changed to %, or I can use both, so I would like to know how many whant . and how many whant %

could be @, this might avoid folder% issue on some homebrew

I think a lot more peeps would have windows rather than mac, so I'd go with '%' instead of '.'

yeah but you can't add '*' as a character in a folder name on windows, don't know about macs though

you simply read a file in that has the path to the file that the user doubled clicked on, say a rom file, I will be providing a app myself with source code for viewing raw screen dumps fron Choice eXtreme

Intererting, I 'might' try and make a media player if I have 'some' time in the holidays, but don't back me up on this, notice the emphasis

PS if you make an app for say ChoiceX 1.6, will it ever have compatibility issues with further releases of ChoiceX

No, Choice eXtreme simply save the pathname of the file then runs your eboot, your eboot then reads the file to get the pathname.

So it will allways work, and it will be 1.7.0 has this fully working

1.7.0a4 returns to the location from were you opened a file, eg eboot.pbp

I converted TTA font to .xfn and it still wont work for me...actually when I added them and slected teh new font it really messed the program up. How can I change font and make it work?

If anyone can clear this up for me I would appricate it, and I am sorry if it has been covered. I scrolled back in pages until I saw someone ask a question about changing fonts and figured it had not been covered.

*edit* is it also possible to create more photo shop templates that will show up as folder icons, or if not folders but eboots, inside larger ones?

Also it seems like your testing a new build, I can test if you need more testers, but it seems like you have alot...

Can you release an example IE: a POC app to show us more stupid users how to do this, I base by work on thing i have seen. Maby a zip app that opens ATs zip plugin.

My bad I forgot to change it to that... I have a custom install location for both eMenu and xChoice and they are basicly like (it's not hard but don't ask me or try if you are not familiar with hex editing...):

-ms0:/psp/photo/tif200.nid (changed the name... shared by both Choice and eMenu)
-ms0:/psp/photo/Choice (with all xChoice and the rest of the eLoader files inside)
-ms0:/psp/photo/eLoader (with eMenu and the rest of eLoader files inside)

I just copied what was in my cfg (eLoader.cfg by the way :D). Yes menu=ms0:/psp/system/shell/eboot.pbp is the right one... Sorry about that

1.7.0 will not be long now, just a few bugs to sort out if i have time to do so in 1.7.0, else will be fixed in 1.7.x

1.7.0, will allow application support.

when a user double click on a file say a mp3 or avi file, it will save that pathname, path+filename to ms0:/psp/system/shell/application support/open.path

a text file with the pathname
then it runs the eboot for that file type, your media player if you do develop one

Have you fixed the PSP-FTPD problem, or is that something that is un-fixable?

Some items that I planed on adding, disn't make it, so looks like I will have do 1.7.xa update version

I haven`t had much time to play with this but here are a couple of things I found.

1: The topinfo panel still says press square for options when its triangle now.

2: If you hover over a file and press triangle for options then press get info the file info appears. Then try to back out by pressing circle like it tells you the info stays on screen and the screen stays dim but you can navigate around the previous screen which you can see dimly behind.
You can keep building on these screens on top of each other by pressing on traingle and getting info for another file. You can get out of this by pressing square instead of circle to backtrack.

I know about this and will be changing it, it was mised.
The second issue is easly fixed, it is caused by the screen not being restored back to the previous state after the info screen.

1.7.0a will be emailed soon to testers, then to put on site for downloading soon after.

I may be adding an activation in it, this is just to make sure that no one downloads an out of date version and will be simple process, you get given a key by the software you enter it on the site and if it is uptodate, it will give you a 4 digit number to enter and will activate it, you will be able to use it from there even if it has been updated, it will not stop working, this is just to prevent too many older versions springing up on other sites as activation will only work on the latest version.

You will not have to exit choice and re-enter it to activated, choice will generate the activation key for you and all that you will notice is the first time you use it, is that the first screen will give you a number to enter on the site to check to see if it is the latest version.

I may be able to create an automatic activation where you don't see any activation screen, it will operate as normal, but the fisrt time it is run it will do a quick check to see if it is upto date

I just emailed you my find/s. It seems that as with 1.7.0a4 a .filename is being created for every folders, files and thumbnails being browse thru Xchoice which is taking a lot of space especially if you happened to have a lot of homebrews in your ms and/or you created a lot of folders and subfolders. I am not sure if every build testers noticed and/or experienced this.

My psp fw is 2.0 and I am using Xchoice with eloader 0.96 coz I am having some "issues" with eloader 0.97.

1.7.0a has been emailed to testers, and just now waiting find out what they think of it.

Show/Hide Exstension may be getting removed as I find out if they whant rid of it and replaced with Show/Hide Extensions

Only 3 build Testers remain on the Build Testers for XArt Software, list

This is due to no responce from the other testers, no new build testers will be taken, only the remaing three will be given builds to test.

New testers will be taken on when beta 1 is released.

How do you benifit by being a tester.

1.You can effect what gose into the software if you have a realy good idea
