Hi there, I was using this Devhook tutorial,
I followed all the steps (I have ver 1.5FW)
And currently my psp is stuck on the
PSP devhook Ver0.44 by booster screen to load any UMD etc.

notthing works in this screen however, no buttons notthing.
I tried resetting the PSP, even turning it off, but this screen stays.

I even resorted to removing the battery to remove this screen.
Agen notthing happened.

Please anyone out there can tell me what i can do? any ways I can sort this out?!

I thought this cudnt mess up the PSP? I thought it was only the Downgrader which COULD have caused problems?

I apologize for my ignorance in advance. I just purchased a PSP which came preinstalled with version 2.71. I have several games that I want to use with it but require a version higher than 2.71, and I have some emulators that I would like to use, which I believe require version 1.5 or lower. Therefore, it sounds like Devhook may be just what I need. However, even after reading up on this topic from this site and several others I am still unsure of exactly what I need to do in order to get my PSP to do those 2 things properly without turning it into a brick. Plus, my PSP has a motherboard with the "IC1003" stamp on it shown on the inside of the UMD door making it a TA-082. Can someone please tell me exactly what I need to do in order to get my PSP to run both new games and run emulators?

Hey there. I've installed devhook with the V2.00 and v2.5 firmwares. i loaded up prince of persia no problem but there is no audio.
Does anyone know why this might be??

Your stuck then regular 3.40 can't run homebrew or be downgraded.

There is no current exploit to allow this.

Can i emulate two or more Firmwares with DevHook?

Yes. Place all the required firmware files in the required folder. Example:

271 - 2.71 flash files.
301 - 3.01 flash files.

You should look for a .RAR package of about +/-14.5 MB(unrared 18.3 MB) large with the 2.71 files. It says mostly in the .RAR name if it has those files. Use google to find it. Search for something like devhook044_full.

There are a few other things you need:

1. pbp-unpacker-094-setup.exe (Get it here)
2. Devhook Firmware Installer (Get it here, It's in the devhook044 download)
3. 2.71 Firmware Update (Get it here)

When you've downloaded the above mentioned items, go through these steps to get firmware 2.71 emulated on your psp:

1. Copy the folders called ''dh'' and ''PSP'' to the root of your memorystick from the .RAR package you downloaded.

(The first window you'll see when you open your memorystick is the ROOT. You can also just copy the programs that are in the PSP\GAME folder from the .RAR package).

2. Start pbp-unpacker-094 and use it to open the 2.71 EBOOT.PBP you downloaded and click on the ''Extract'' button.

3. Copy one of the extracted files called ''DATA.PSAR'' to the root of your memorystick.

4. Use Devhook Firmware Installer which you have on your PSP to install the 2.71 firmware. It will automatically detect the DATA.PSAR and install it. Press 'O' to both questions it asks.

5. Start devhook and use the following settings:

UMD Select: ISO, CSO or --UMD DISC--
UMD Mount: ISO ANYUMD
UMD Version: 2.xx > 2.00
Firmware: 2.60/2.71
CPU Clock: 222Mhz/111Mhz (dont use 333mhz, might freeze or not work)
Boot Select: Reboot XMB
Other: If it doesnt work try changing the Preload Address. The default address should be ok.

That was it, it SHOULD work now. I got it to work with that ''specific'' devhook044 package I found on the internet.

This is how it should look like when you've done the above explained steps:

This is GUARANTEED to work! I tried it myself a few times and so did some other people. As long as you get the full devhook044 with 2.71 files pack downloaded from somewhere.

There might be an easier way, like the autoinstallers, but allot of people reported getting black screens followed by the psp turning off. Doing it manually has its benefits. Also those other packages tell you to just copy the ''dh'' and ''PSP'' folder and it should work, in allot of cases it doesn't. The readme lacks clear instructions to install it properly. That's why I made this little tutorial for 2.71 only.

This is a gr8 job yeah, but here's the thing i have a new psp slim and my version is 3.60, so i try you'r steps but when i go in GAME and use memory stick and when i use firmware installer it says "This game cannot be started" " data is corrupted.", any idea what am i doing wrong or something?

This can't run on the Slim nor can it run on 3.71-DAX33 (w/o the 1.50 pluginpatch) since DevHook depends on the 1.50 firmware kernel - wich doesn't exist on said firmwares.
