Qj has 139 pages and holds about 30 on each page See the difference? P.S Im not bashing Qj or Psphacks im just proving a point of why Qj would not be shut down just for allowing the talk of Isos

PSP-hacks doesn't have the same legal implication as qj does.
QJ is owned by a multi-millionare, which definetly puts the owner in some type of risk of legal action against him. QJ runs as a buisiness while psp-hacks is more of a fan-based site but still somewhat of a business. |

The way I see it ther are 2 scenes happening here.
1. The homebrew scene that work hard to unlock the "hardware" we purchased and is ours for our own doing, by law. We write code for the psp that uses the psp's hardware, both of which are ours. We may have bent a few rules to get there but in essence thats what it is and poses no threat to the "PSP" market. In fact it makes the product more valuable as a tool. 2. The piracy scene that works hard to unlock the software products that come with the PSP. Now lets not beat around the bush, its piracy and its as simple as that. Now the scene also is not as malicisious as it is deemed to be. Its more based on peer group pressure, keeping up with the jones' and reputation/standing, all of which are commercial side-effects that are being employed by the very manufacterer of the PSP. The delema is that scene #2 has a negative effect to the core existance of the PSP in the 1st place. Its a bit like burning fossil fuels for electricity to better our lives. Doesnt pay off in the long run and poses no mutual benifit. So just accept ISO's & ROM's are a subject that really need not be defended. If you feel so strongly towards promoting what is known to be a negative issue then respect the owner of this site and maybe form an"ISO/ROM" exclusive site. There are so many things to do in homebrew that does not involve piracy that it seems such a small matter to start with and if piracy is let to dominate then games will not be released for the PSP as there will be no $$ in it and homebrew will be the only choice. In other words - STFU, deal with it and learn to code!!!!!! |

because they don't want their site im sure to close because of any piracy or any illegal causes.... u don't want to be in the middle of a piracy case... it can be a pretty high fine....
spreading piracy is fine if u want to take the risk... as long as u all know the risk.... and that risk is pretty high... i think one person had to pay 250k??? i dunno don't remember.... so many stories i hear.... besides this is becomming a respected place..... and well knowing of course... so it wouldnt be hard to shut it down if the internet catches it... |

On official firmwares its 1.50 or bust
But in custom firmwares you can upgrade directly to newer ones. Downgrading is just as safe as flashing a custom firmware.

Any talks over ISO 9660 is not permited, ISO is International Organization for Standardization
And so contains loads of standardizations and one of them 9660 is about disk image that backups of UMDs are in, CSO is a compressed ISO 9660 and so you are not allowed to talk about that type of ISO but the rest are fine. like your allowed to talk about say ISO 216, why it is talking about Paper sizes like A4 So bottom line is ISO 9660 is not to be talked about as it is mostly used for backups of UMD discs and homebrew dosn't need to be in ISO format so that is why it is basicaly not allowed. QJ needs to make this clear as they tend to come over as ISO is band and that would mean not a lot you could talk about. People need to understand ISO is not about disk but is about Standardization So will I be baned if talking about an ISO No because its ISO MPEG-4 versions 1 and 1.1 I am talking about, it is not about ISO 9660 So what I would like is ISO 9660 stated in nice and bold and all other ISOs are ok

Well what those 2 file homebrew your talking about use the 1.5 kernel....Something the psp slim cant install or read..
You may use 3.xx kernel homebrew(It only one folder) You may use this thread to download and install some of the more popular homebrew that will work on your psp [Guide] The Ultimate 3.XX/4.XX Homebrew List

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post
I'm currently running 3.11 FAT PSP; my wife just bought it for me!! Reading the forums everyone suggests that you have to downgrade then put the CFW on. This suggests that I could just install a 3.71-M33-4 and not worry about the 1.5 homebrew stuff. Can you please advise thanks in advance |

Yes, it's the wrong place to post. Feel free to make a thread in the homebrew and hacks help section if you want.
To downgrade follow this. After you downgrade to 1.5, follow this.
