***For anyone that experiences a black screen and then shut down after starting Devhook:***
Select Firmware 3.01 in Devhook then start it (even if you have installed 3.02)
I did this and it booted up OK. System Information then confirmed I was running Firmware 3.02.
tryed that file, it says it can't find the eboot, I tryde it a few times, with the eboot named; eboot, eboot.pbp, Eboot, Eboot.pbpZitat:

none worked.
I'm haveing the same prob jebus is, but I have 1.5
I tryed running 3.02 and it goes to a screen that says data is croupt, press O to restore, in a bunch of diff languages. When I try and run 3.01, it turns off, i reboot and it just boots into 1.5
Hey guys, sorry bout posting this as my first post but i'd like to get it sorted ASAP :) Don't worry i'll make an intro thread soon :P
I installed and set up Devhook 0.51 following the guide on the first page. I used the 'All in one Eboot' guide (the 11 step one). Devhook works fine and loads up the version 3.01 firmware, but when I go to load up a UMD game it just gives me a blank screen and then eventually turns off.
So I went back to the first page and had a look at the FAQ. It says to fix the black screen, refollow the guide and pay close attention to step 18-21, but the problem is that in the 'All in one Eboot guide' there are only 11 steps... so what do I do here?
Thanks in advance for any help :)
Edit: Just tried more UMD games (Tekken Dark Resurrection and Syphon Filter Dark Mirror) and they both worked. The one that doesn't work is Outrun 2006 Coast to Coast. Does anyone know why Tekken and Syphon Filter work but Outrun doesnt? Bit of a strange issue I think ?

did that and it WORKED! YAY. Thanks
I had devhook .46 and customfirm ware installed on my psp working fantastic.
I wanted to put in new devhook + new firmware for games like metal gear ops.
I followed the instructions on the first page in regards to the All in One Boot guide and it worked up until the step where i run the firmware for 3.01 , i press x and it beins trying to install 3.01 for devhook than i get an error after it attempts to extract ps rar
"done! unable to create report file stick may be full or can't create OUT folder"
any1 know how to fix this, or is there a way to wipe my memory stick completely and start all over?
Yeah I got that too.
The fix is simple. #3 in the instructions on the first page is what causes confusion.
Heres how to fix it:
In the instructions it says:
#3 Open DH0510000.rar, double click DH0510000, double click MS_ROOT. Extract all of the files to the root of your memory stick. When prompted, click "Yes to all". Note: If you have custom firmware, and you 1.50 kernel homebrew folder is GAME150, you'll have to move the devhook launcher from the GAME folder to the GAME150 folder.
IGNORE those instructions. Heres what you want to do:
Open DH0510000.rar in WinRar. EXTRACT it onto your computer somewhere. Once you've done that, find where you extracted it to and open it. Open the MS_ROOT folder. Select everything in MS_ROOT and copy. Now go into My Computer and open up the drive letter that corresponds to your PSP. PASTE the copied files in there, if it asks whether you want to overwrite, click yes to all. Done. Now finish the installation the same as you did before. It should work now.
If that didn't work, I don't know whats wrong, but instead, go here and download the even newer DevHook 0.51.01 with firmware 3.02. Trust me its alot better and the instructions are alot easier to understand. Here it is - http://forums.qj.net/f-psp-developme...100-82594.html
Hope that helps ya out mate :)
No problem at all. :tup:Zitat:

I hadn't actually heard of it until you asked. So I looked into it, then decided to go for it. It's the best thing I've done with my PSP.

The root of the memory stick is the very first folder. It's the one that contains the PSP folder. Should be something like My Computer\F:, or whatever letter goes with your PSP.
i have the BSoD problem and the guide says to follow steps 18 -21. i can't see any of those steps. somebody please help me out
I had the BSoD too, read my posts above and on the previous page, they tell you how to fix it :D
This works, Good Jarb! :tup:Zitat:

A bit of a crazy question ...
Was wondering if there was a way to emulate 2.71 SE-X under devhook?
The reason for doing that is to have homebrews running under a 2.6+ kernel instead of the 1.5 kernel. Specifically ... allowing for WPA on wifi ...
There also seem to be some 2.71 SE versions of homebrews ...
Friends don't let friends use WEP for wifi ... otherwise I'd be completely happy on just 1.5.
EDIT:
Found the answer to my question ... The HEN-D distribution includes code to enable HEN in devhook. Worked for me in DH 0.46 at least.

ive been having trouble installing 2.8 firmware on devhook 0.51, however i have installed 2.82, any help would be appreciated
Hardrive, are you still sticking with DH 0.51 or have you upgraded? If you have please guide us/me with an upgrade to this here guide.
I have followed the various different directions to install DH 0.52 with 3.03, like the one mentioned on this site where you move the flash folder to the dh/303 directory and install it like that and the one where you don't move the folder and install using the last option in the flash install menu in DH itself. Both of these methods have given me a black screen when I try to boot it and not the BSOD as people have been saying in various threads that I'm supposed to get the first time start DH 0.52. Cheers and Merry New Year.
hi i have followed every step correctly but my internet still does not work can anybody plz guide me with this i cant play infrastructure games at all now plz help HAPPY NEW YEAR!
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!1:tup:
i juss want to say thank you to the people who helped develop devhook 0.51. also, props for such an easy installation guide.
Hi,
My PSP is TA-082 2.71 to 1.5.
I followed method 2 and got same as 23.step without a UMD Disc (My background is the same with the blue screen when Ta-082 to 1.5 **Press O to start 1.5***), because I just got my PSP DEC30...
What should I do next? I can't get into the homebrew or any thing... I click escape devhook... it just restarted and back to the screen as 23.step
Please help! I'm Noob!
Hey folks. In trying to do the all-in-one eboot, I'm running into a rather strange problem: the qj.net forums, for some odd reason, aren't allowing me to download the 3.01 Devhook Firmware Installer. Every single time I try, it insists that I'm not logged in (which I am), or that I don't have permission to access the particular page, or what have you.
What, exactly, am I missing? Thanks in advance for any help/ideas.

For the X and O being switched, I followed you insrtuctions on how to fix it but it is still reversed any idea why?
maybe you have the cookies disabled in your browser :)Zitat:
can you run PSX-EBOOT STUFF WITH THIS DEVHOOK and if so were do they go IE game folder, iso folder etc or can you only run PSX-EBOOT stuff using Dark AleX's 3.03 OE-A installer................ .........................
edit: can you run both together because i have just installed 51 and bin/eboots don't work only iso's
Hi,
First of all, thanks for this great tutorial !
I followed it with the 2.82 (us) firmware and all went well but the only thing is that everytime I launch devhook .51 or exit from a game running with devhook .51, my psp reboot and I have to do the Initial Setup (select language, time zone..) ... is that normal ?
If yes ... well, ok...
If not, anyone could help me fixing this ?
Thank you !
Hey Guys,
Firstly Thanks For the excellent tutorial. I have one question though, been doing some searching, wallpaper and theme, and i can't seem to find any reasons why when i put a set a wallpaper from an image, then next time i start the 3.01 via Devhook, the PSP black screens and hangs... Can someone piont me in a different for a fix or explantation or some thing
Regards
Flemo
any improvements with devhook? or are there still home-exit errors when running games? i'm very tempted to upgrade to OE-A firmware, but i heard there are compatibility issues with some games not being able to run. is there any method of setting up devhook so that it runs flawlessly (eg. running a game and exiting out correctly)?
stay with devhook 51 because 303 OE-A is only good for psx games
but as i said before, i'm still having problems with DH's current lack of stability. and apparently there's no fix for the home/exit errors that occur when playing a game.
Im also getting this problem, any help much appreciated
Depressing - I have a 2.71 PSP with the IC1003 mobo, happily running DevHook 0.4x for 2.71. (This was installed for me)
I have tried every upgrade since then, 2.8x, 3.xx and whenever I try to launch the installer it just says that it cannot load the game as the file is corrupt.
You'd expect the odd occasion of file transfer corruption, but I have repeated the process many times and always get the same message.
The only thing that I have different on my PSP is that the HEN is HENB rather than HEND as mentioned here, but I have no idea what that file does so don't know whether it's relevant to the DH installer process.
A couple of other people have had the same problem, but no-one seems to have responded to their queries - it must be a particular failure for several people to have the same issue.
Anyone offer any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
HEND is an Homebrew Enabler (revision D). You have to run it to be able to run a devhook version on your psp.Zitat:
Zitat von hAkkTyA
You should install HEND and use this one instead of HENB.
I think you need the D revision in order to get the newest devhook working.
HEND is more stable too.
Find it here : http://dl.qj.net/dl.php?fid=11444
For the installation :
Simply copy the content of the MS_ROOT folder to the root of your psp.
Run HEND instead of HENB.
You should be able to use the newest devhook.
Hope this help you :)
Well - that certainly made a difference - using HEND meant that the installer launched, but it then (after 10 secs) came up with the error message:
The game could not be started (80120005)
So I've moved along a little (thanks fatrickchords) but am now stuck again. I did a forum search for the error message but could only find someone else with this problem during a 2.71 install and the answers didn't seem to help me out :-(
Any more tips? Thanks in advance!
Hello,
I have a 2.71 psp, and use HEND to change it to a 1.5
I can then succefully access Devhook 0.51, but when I change the firmware to 3.01, and proceed. It just brings me back to the home of 1.50 >.<
Please any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks!
IS there anyway you came make a 3.0.3 None flashing installer like this?

Zitat von hAkkTyA
MAYBE one of the files for devhook are corrupted...or maybe your not following the correct steps..im gona create a step by step guide so try this it should answer all your problems.and i identify either problem...iight
Step 1 :
press start on the henD...the screen should now turn blue.white ... or scrambled...this is fine.. just allow this to continue till it RESETS the PSP on its OWN.. if it fails to do so ... then just power off the psp and try this step again...
NOTE: never turn the psp off while the memory stick is working or in action...the red light on the left should be flashing like krayzie this means the memory stick is in use , loading or working. usually ur memory stick is working its ass off after acessing henD.So powering off wile it is doing this will corrupt either parts of ur game data or all ...rendering your data useless.. if this happens you will need to format your memory stick so that it deletes every thing.it is a good idea to back up your game saves and pictures regularly in case sumthin like this happens..now that u are ready... reinstall all the programs and everything that was on ur memory stick previously...then begin to follow my steps again...
Step 2 :
after the psp has reset its self it shud be back to the same 2.71 screen u had on b4... make sure u customise ur wall paper b4 going into devhook... i do this just to be sure what firmware im on...as the wallpaper will change once moving intto 1.5...then back to your wallpaper once your psp has been powered off.
Step 3
now that your ready scroll right untill u get to the game section ..now scroll down to devhook..open it up.now it should load..once in dev hook u can change the firmware to 1.5 - 2.7 .. if your using this one .. its very simple to use .. if your playing again that needs 2.7 support ... load an ISO ... then put a UMD inside your psp change the firmware..make sure your settings are set so that it uses the UMD to load.. then highlight START and press O ..
once the screen changes to 2.7 ... look at the loaded UMD in the games section..its the ISO u selected and thats it!!
NOTE : its very important that you never EVER turn off the psp wile the memory stick is loading or working... like i sed before it will corrupt your data .. its like ps2 when u opt to save and the game tells you not to power off the ps2 or remove the memory card... because doing this will corrupt it ...
Theres a way u can tell on psp if your data is corrupted... have a look at your memory stick... for example (only an example figures may be off )... after installation on my 2GB memory stick duo.. i have 1gb and 420mb left should look sumthin like this 1,420 mb.. if i was to corrupt it .. the memory should look like this .... 1,992...
the memory should return or come close to the same amount of memory you would have after formatting the memory stick.
so if it does .. it means your memory stick is corrupted and you need to reformatt it
thats it!
also this next lil story is in relation to STEP 2
Note : My nefew got a hold of my psp and was playing around with it anD the background was in 1.5 mode ... it was red then he powered off the psp and change the 2.71 screen to red ,so that i wouldnt find out that he played around with my psp and almost stuffed it up.
i then tried to load up the homebrew games but they didnt work ...i thought it was still in 1.5 mode.. after it sed this and that...ABOUT DATA being corrupt i got pissed off and went to re format.. then just by chance i thought id check to see if hend would load up sure enough it did changed the wall paper back to my customised one..problem solved.. this is thee main reason i stress the need of wallpaper customisation..1.5 mode cant run 2.71 programs and hen D.
this lil step by step should answer all the newbies out there.. im a new bie also .. so i know how you all feel not being to find the answers.. but in the end you will realise how easy devhook is to use and the creators are pure geniuses in what they do , and the answers we seek arent really that hard to find.. its just our ability to work on facts and piece em together to get our answer
I have a PSP version 3.01,
I want to hack it so i could download games from the internet. one site said that i should use devhook.
I followed method one of ur tutorial, but when i tried to launch the 3.01 DH FW Installer, my psp said that it could not play the file as it was corrupted. I then cleared my memstick of the firmware and tried method 2, this time, when i launched it, an error screen came up.
