dear QJ forums,
I just bought a PSP today, and to my horror (forgot to check the board before purchase, only checked the firmware to make sure it's 2.71 or below, when checking it back at home), it's a TA-082 board. I did some reading on how to downdate and all (to get to the said famous 3.02-OE-B firmware), but I need some reassurance of what I'm about to do, to prevent the whole PSP bricking and all (I'm paranoid with wasting away nearly 200 bucks for nothing).
Initially, I was thinking about using these 'easy installer's, but several people over another forum recommended against it, for fear of bricking:
I've checked this out:
but I don't seem to understand the instructions:
>Run HEN-D if you are not already running it.
Run it? How? Where? Extract the HEN-D .rar'd files on the root of my memory stick, then find a file to run?
>Now execute the generic downgrade, which will show in the xmb as "Update X.YX" in the psp language.
What generic downgrade? this one? http://forums.qj.net/f-psp-hacks-9/t...der-73464.html
Oh, and how do I use those fancy homebrew stuffs like the CPS-2 emulators? Just put them in certain folders in the memory stick, then directly run it off the PSP?
Thanks in advance. I appreciate it, lots.
edit: If I want to update to 3.02 OE-B, I just need to update from 1.5 to 3.02-OE-A, then to OE-B right? No need getting to 2.71 first?
