Default [GUIDE] Full Flash0 Dump With Recovery Mode

FULL FLASH0 BACKUP W/ RECOVERY MODE

Today you will learn how to get the original .rcos from your Sony PSP using Recovery Mode. Yes, thats right, FULL flash0 backups.

Things You NEED:

1) PBP Unpacker
2) 2.50 Update, 3.03 Update or 3.10 Update or 3.30 Update or
3.40 update, or the 3.71 update, or 3.90 update.
3) RSPSAR Dumper

Use the EBOOT you need.

How To Get It Done!

Download the PBP Unpacker and open it up, then load the any of the eboots. After you have done that, place the files in a file where you can access it easily. I recommend a new folder on your desktop to store everything.

Recovery Mode Part...

Once thats done and done, activate Recovery Mode by holding R upon start up of your PSP system. Open up the EBOOT.PBP from the PSPFWDumper to ms0:/psp/game/recovery. If there happens to not be a folder there, create one. Get the DATA.PSAR from the eboot you have just unpacked and move it to the root of your memory stick. That is the top f your memory stick that has PSP and MP_ROOT. So, once you move it you should have:

PSP
MP_ROOT
DATA.PSAR

Getting The Backup!

Once you got all that done *whew*, scroll down to "Run Program at /PSP/Game/Recovery/EBOOT.PBP". Then it will bring up a prompt that you would normally have to read. But in this case...press square. It will decompress the firmware to a "f0" file in your memory stick root.

Once you "Enable USB" you will now have a complete back-up of flash0.

This is a revision of oni8245's guide. This guide WAS written by me ( Sycketion ).

You know people are still going to keep asking you for the Gameboots even if you put a big sign on there forehead that leads them to CapnFuffy.

That's only if you modded your files previously.

How is your recovery mode messed up?

Recovery Mode should be the recovery.prx found in either kd or kd folder (I forget which one...)

I'm certain its legal to distribute that file because its hand made by Dark_Alex.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to my PSP right now so I can't give it to you...

>>>EDIT<<<

try deleting the recovery mode configuration file.

Its stored on flash1, I forget what its called but it should be obvious.

Just delete your whole flash1, the PSP will re-create it.

Just the PSPs settings. Delete everything from flash1 and you will get a BSOD then have to re-enter your settings, then it should all be good.

I flashed 3.10OE RCOs over my 3.40RCOs. Now some parts get screwy and my PSP hangs, eg. Wrong Logo (Game logo @ Network).

If I dump the flash0 again using 3.40 Official Firmware, will I get the screwed ones I flashed or new RCOs. I read that you get the 3.40 RCOs back? Just to reconfirm.
