Got this from www.psp-spot.com
Another date has been released, now August 27th. It's been nearly 2-3 weeks, with it being delayed. Personally, I think the 2.0 firmware released for North American PsPs are going to be different from the Japan 2.0 firmware released a couple weeks ago. If they were excactly the same, wouldn't it be released a few days apart? I'm not sure excactly what's going on, but something definitly is fishy. I think this dates going to be pushed back once again, to September first, the same date the PsP is released in Aus.
SCEA has announced the reason for the delay of the much-anticipated firmware update 2.0 for their Playstation Portable Handheld. The announcement, which can be found on Sony's website, reads:
'As many of you know, an update for the Playstation Portable was expected to be launched on August 12th. Due to unexpected circumstances, it was pushed back to the week of August 15th. We regret to inform you that the update will once again be pushed back, to August 27th. On that date, firmware for the US PSPs (1001-K) will be released with a Web Browser and other features. The 'background-changer' utility has been REMOVED and will be available to download at a later time.'
Apparently there were some glitches in the background-changer utility. Well, we finally have a date!
