the recovery menu is cool to have but there is a few things that could be improved with this custom firmware.
(1).some features done work unless u hard reboot the psp system such as the 1.5kernal addon and some times the flash0 usb activation doesnt work.
(2). there are only a few bugs with the program which need fixed Minor Bugs!
So does will CTF work with this?
It will.Originally Posted by david12795

yeah the in-vsh recovery is actually getting kind of annoying because it takes longer to change stuff like CPU speed and despite what they said, most changes don't take effect until after restart.
Ill just wait till its as good as 3.90 m33
The Recovery Menu in this new cfw 3.93 is violating the GPL v3 by adding code from HELLCAT's Savegame Deemer. They tried to fix it with update 2 by removing the offending code. However that does not change the fact that it is still violating GPL v3.
This sounds like a cheap way to obtain the recovery source.Originally Posted by Jachra
He removed the code, so why are you still worrying about it?
On a sidenote, quick review of the assembly shows it isn't Hellcat's direct source, but it's based upon it. Alot of things changed, like a completly new method of hooking syscalls, dynamic searches, improvements in savetimes, etc.
They made the mistake. Your comment does not alter the fact that that it violates the GPL v3. Under GPL v3 they must release the source code for anyone. The Recovery Menu in update 2 also falls under GPL v3.Originally Posted by 7-Points
It would be good that they would at least up hold the GPL v3.
Version 2 doesn't fall under GPLv3, as the Hellcat code has been removed.Originally Posted by Jachra
As far as I know, the Recovery Menu from update 2 is created from the Recovery Menu from the initial release. Therefore it falls under the GPL v3.Originally Posted by 7-Points
They would have completely rewritten the Recovery Menu to avoid the GPL v3 violation.
Why does it matter if it violates GPL v3??
Let's not turn this thread into a legal debate.

It matters. I call it the proper way of handling.
I am trying not to.
When they say that the license is viral, I seriously don't think that's what they mean. I sincerely doubt that that's the way the GPL works. I won't go any deeper into this, by Moose_Island's wishes, but I wouldn't go around making the strong claims you make without being a lawyer. I make no claims to be a lawyer, and I may be mistaken, but the way you have phrased everything makes it look like you have no doubt in your statements. And just because he violated the GPL doesn't mean he has to release the source code. He just has to cease distribution of the product (unless THAT'S changed from GPLv2 to v3, but I kinda doubt that).Originally Posted by Jachra

Maybe, the GPL v3 isn't that much clear about it.
Maybe I didn't make myself clear, what I meant was do not make this thread into a legal debate.
I think the creater was ketchup but im only heard that on a other forum but nice job i still prefer my 3.90m33-3 lol
but still its a new look into custom firmware:)
I agree.. but I have also noticed that my POPS Eboots do not load with this firmware. I Jumped back to 3.90 M33. also.. the XMB accessed recovery menu has the USB connection disabled.:Argh: SO... I have to reboot and access the Menu the old way. if U ask me.. I'll keep it how it was.:dj:Originally Posted by MiKeY188

Ketchup did NOT make this. Stop the pointless seculation.
Ok i am sure some of you know but the creator was Ketchup himself if you know nice.. Also its a new look into custom firmware with the pandora access trough the recovery. nice work...
its not ketchupOriginally Posted by MiKeY188
Ketchup did not make this. He DID make LE Recovery though which is a plugin that does pretty much the same thing this does but better.
Ketchup DID make this, kids.
