[RELEASE] 3.93 Custom Firmware

This is a discussion on [RELEASE] 3.93 Custom Firmware within the PSP News, Announcements & Contests forums, part of the PSP Chat category; I was just browing PSPGen, and found this. I don't know who the author is, it only says it's PSPGen ...

Default [RELEASE] 3.93 Custom Firmware

I was just browing PSPGen, and found this. I don't know who the author is, it only says it's PSPGen exclusive.

Launch app, and follow the instructions.

!WARNING! Press X when the official update said that press X to reboot, if not, you will have a brick.

CHANGES:
--------

1. Uses the 3.93 kernel
2. Implented all the original custom firmware features.
3. Ability to use the normal recovery inside the XMB by pressing the HOME button:
- When in the recovery, the system is suspended, and you can change all options directly.
- All options work immediatly, there is no need to reboot (even the Slim's USB charging option)
- Ability to make a Pandora battery from the recovery, read and restore the EEPROM, etc. Providing that the motherboard supports it.
- Ability to hide the MAC adress in System Information, if you do so, the MAC will show visually as all 0's.
- Ability to save the savegames in normal format, rather then encrypted (only functions in March33 and Sony NP9960 mode).
4. The native 3.93 pops isn't as good as the previous pops, therefor I hope the popsloader will get updated to support 3.93.

THANKS:
--------
Dark_AleX and Team M33, for all their custom firmwares.
Hellcat for his Saveplain plugin, which I improved and integrated in the custom firmware.
*** http://www.pspgen.com ***
Installed it and works fine Please refer to here for screenshots and such.
I like the in-XMB recovery, alot
NOTE: It doesn't change the version, so it will say offical "Version 3.93", however, all custom firmware features will work.

Reupload on MegaUpload
Offical 3.93 Sony update

EDIT: 1.50 kernel add-on released. Get it here.

Oh man, the in-XMB Recovery is amazing. Works great, thanks for the heads up, Seven.

EDIT: Expect a guide soon.

Interesting. As it doesn't say who its really by, could it be leaked?

EDIT

I would try it, but I don't have a spare Pandora to downgrade with if I would rather go back to 3.90 m33

That's a CF without name and without author, only credits to M33 & Hellcat, to avoid arguing about credits and stuff I presume...

After updating, there's no homebrew under Game, also no Savegame too...nothing.
Anyone knows why??

Dunno, it could be that he was the first to update and then take a screen, course I'm probably wrong.

So both the select and home button can't be used to play music and view photos at the same time on the xmb (Sony's Official Feature)?

Try formatting your flash1 that can cause certain configuration errors. Remember do not format your flash0. Otherwise if formatting your flash0 doesn't work you might have something wrong with your IDstorage I found this webpage link

Does this use the M33 modules or are all the custom modules written from scratch?

watch this is be by Dark alex\M33. This kind of reminds me back when M33 hit the scene do you remember that folks. As for myself I wont upgrade until I need to as 3.93 has nothing for me. I do like the access to recovery through the xmb though but not enough to leave my beloved 1.5 kernel

That isn't why, as the 3.93 features patch doesn't seem to install the 3.93 kernel.
And also, I had it installed and upgraded to this 3.93 CFW too without any problems.

There isn't a 1.50 Add-on, so 1.50 Homebrew won't work, yet. It may be a reverse-engineer of a M33 firmware, like the HX releases, but there is a chance that it may be DaX again. Then again, EVERY custom firmware not released by DaX\M33 is now always rumored to be a DaX creation under another alias.

I don't see why so many people still care about that add-on, the 1.50 kernel is over 2 years old, and it's really time for a change.

Also, why is there a need to rumor that it's Dark_AleX everytime a new custom firmware is released, seriously, Dark_AleX isn't a "god" or anything, he is just a developer. Sure, he might be a bloody good one, but that doesn't mean there aren't other people out there that can do the same

Show me something that is better or equal to 1.5 kernel and I will change.
