This is a discussion on PSP-3000 Announced Officially within the PSP News, Announcements & Contests forums, part of the PSP Chat category; Whats Echochrome?...
Im now a City of Heroes/Villians player.
Try googling Echocrome and maybe you'll find out? I don't know, just a wild guess on my part...
Those packs look alright, but I think I'm going to get a nice new shiny black psp-3000 model when it comes out. I'm getting tired of my silver slim-2000
Im tired of the white, its faded out so much. Im just gonna get me a black core pack when this comes out.
Black actually looks good with this model, so if I choose to get this model, I'm getting black.
man, i really want one of these \:
But ... im just wondering if its worth it or not.
Also heard this going to be hereby dub thee: PSP Brite
If you remember me xbl me mfmseth
I'll wait until it is hacked before I decide to spend my money on one. I already have a slim and a phat, so I guess i would sell both of those and buy a 3000 if it gets completely hacked.

This is why, you need a cam and so you buy a gocam for your PSP, and guess what it has it's own mic so what is the point of a PSP with a mic with no cam
This is the point, the user has to buy the addon cam that has a mic on it as well, oh SONY is going to remove the mic from GoCam and just keep the cam part and use the Mic on the PSP, and PSP or PSP Light & Slim users must buy the new model if they whant to buy the GoCam as SONY is removing the Mic to boy cot older PSP units.
Screen will be a good if quicker but LCD manufacturers do quicker pixel refresh on 6bit LCD displays as 8bit gives slower refresh rate of pixels, so is Sony using a 8bit LCD screen with better refresh rate or are they going to cheat by using 6bit that gives you only thousands of colour and use FRC to give the impression of millons of colors, all laptop screens are 6bit, no 8bit panels for laptops exist so 6bit is not as bad as it sounds.
my fat is interlacing the screen, some may notice it some will not, just like all graphic designers can see the FRC or Dithering on 6bit laptop panels and monitors as cheap monitors £200 - £300 or less range are 6bit FRC, entry iMac is 6bit, higher iMac is 8bit
If it is a 6bit LCD it will not be bad as pixels in games change a lot just like videos, it is GUI like stuff were you can spot things.
A built in Cam say 2 to 3 Meg would be very much needed if they are putting a Mic on so users can make use of the TV out as it has no real purpose on the slim.
Why you say, well you buy a handheld just to make it into a normal console, what was the point, MS not a good option for video, iPod better and with it's TV out full screen higher res than PSP it is a better option.
Highr TV out on new PSP is needed and not be using cheap TV out chip but to use SD & HD for Game & Video
Also SONY put the longer battery back in that the fat has, not that lesser life in the slim. bulg the back to do it, gives better grip in hand

VideoThe increased color gamut and improved contrast ratio was noticeable when we placed the PSP-3000 system right next to a PSP-2000 (PSP Slim); colors looked richer and more vibrant on the PSP-3000. The vivid, ghost-free screen does draw more power than the old screen. John Koller, Sony director of hardware marketing told GameSpot that the new screen will reduce battery life by "about 20 minutes."
I think a big turn on for users of PSP-2000 or even the Phat is that the PSP-3000 can now support UMD gaming via Composite component rather than being restrictted to just component. That in itself is huge. Yes, there's homebrew to correct that, but even then FuSa is still glitchy.
Excellent. I still say that a second analog would be widely appreciate, regardless of if older games don't use it, and older model PSP's don't have it. Some decisions that big companies make absolutely baffle me.
I don't see anything warranting a psp2 to ever come out to be honest. I doubt better graphics are really that much more needed for a handheld, and what more could they really offer other than more ram? Hardware revisions can do all of that no problem. But ehhh, whatever.
in a psp2 i would want another analog stick, more ram, maybe some form Internal memory? and a taser for personal defense.
im getting this, the screen is so much better. 480i?
oh and they should toss in a rubber vagina so 12 year olds can please themselves to socom
This may have already been said but I don't want to wade through over 150 posts to find out if so.
Two additions I think would be great for a PSP (much better than all the tiny things they're introducing) would be:
A right analog stick.
A better hold button. It is hard to take the PSP out of hold without turning it off unless you put a finger above it as you push it up to stop yourself doing so, which is really annoying.
I'm not getting it until its hacked, PSP is boring when it isn't.
The faceplate slopes again rather that being flat btw.
