From my experience it fixes some problems and most every game is now 55-60 fps without vsync! Thank the coders and don't flame! Link: http://up2share.com/file/e39r8uyv6_s9xTYLmecm091106.zip EDIT:The link is fixed for now, in the mean time ill load it to a 3rd party source that doesn't expire. EDIT EDIT:It's now uploaded to a 3rd party source that rarely expires(maybe once every 1 1/2 years) EDIT EDIT EDIT:It's updated to latest version again, it seems the anonymous japenese coders are coming out of hiding! I use this. It is a very good SNES emulator for PSP. It has only a few problems such as Donky Kong Country. It is still very good none the less. Thanks for the update.

Chrono Trigger: 50-60 FPS
Megaman X: 50-60 FPS (drops to 30 before showing boss at stage start) Super Mario RPG: 50-60 FPS (even during intro) 38-56 FPS during battle (lowest 28 during first Bowser fight) Final Fantasy VI: 50-60 FPS (drops when a battle starts but goes back to 50-60) All default settings. Definitely seems faster to me.

With default settings Donky Kong Country runs at 12-14 FPS, but if you change the frameskip to 3 then it becomes a bit more playable. With the frameskip at 3 then the FPS jumps to around 49-60 FPS

I don't know how a black transition screen could overheat the system. The FPS drops because the system needs to de-compress the sprites and load them on-the-fly. On a SNES it works fine, but thats a lot of processing for the PSP to do in one go.

Is the infamous "you can't save when you're at low power so if you're at low power and not near an outlet you're boned" problem fixed? Either way, it's about bloody time this was updated.
By the way, it says the link's expired. Offical link? |

As far as I know there's no limit on a real SNES to prevent overheating. I've also never found any reference to a SNES overheating. The SNES doesn't even use a GPU, it uses a PPU system for images. The framerate drops on the PSP because it hasn't been optimized enough to process the rapid loading of the the Megaman X stages. If a GPU overheats, it doesn't limit itself or underclock itself. It just fails.
