Anyone have the files?
Wtf Compatible With Higher Firmware Versions??? This Is Confusing, But Also So Amazing !!!!!!!!!!!
Euh.. Someone of you are still believing that only Sony Produces the UMD's. Euh.. don't know but that's HIGHLY impossible.. How can you expect one company to produce all UMD's for the whole world, that's not possible.... There are many SONY Look a like Company's that press UMD discs...... Sony doesn't handle that alone... Keep dreaming..
MKsoftware, what are you basing this statement on? Do you KNOW Sony isn't the only company that makes UMD's?
wonder how long it'll be till someone rips the UMD or the FULL downloadable version
can anyone who has the video of it in action host it please, the Advance site is down at the moment
its a umd, look under images and stuff says only avalible on umd version, meaning there will be an eboot and umd, but i bet you $1000 that it only works on 2.0/2.5 with the umd
also no way would sony sign this without it being a legal umd,so no easy haxxoring for the 2.5 version
its not like its one slave labourer pressing each disc by himself, UMDs are made by machine in sonys factories all across the world, sony gets all the money from making them, because they invented them. Why would they want to share their money with other manufacturersEuh.. Someone of you are still believing that only Sony Produces the UMD's. Euh.. don't know but that's HIGHLY impossible.. Just read through the whole thread (I usually only read the first page or two and the last page or two). I can't believe how much confusion there is on this.
The demo is an eboot that uses kxsploit. It is NOT signed. The final version WILL be signed (apparently through some kind of agreement with Sony: it's my understanding they've never been oposed to homebrew-Yaroze, linux on PS2-they simply don't want to open the door to piracy)
The final version is supposed to be released on UMD. The pic Campbell posted, which I presume was from their site (I'd check but it's down) even showed retailers names, such as Wal-Mart.
Hope that's clear. Now where I get fuzzy is where people are talking about Lua player being included. Did I miss that? Guess I'll have to go back and reread the first post.
I'll admit I'm still skeptical, simply because that's my nature: I'm paranoid (if everyone would just stop being out to get me I'd stop being paranoid). So, Clay, you say you have a partnership with them? You consider this information reliable enough for us to bet $10 on a preorder? If you say you're willing to stake your rep on it, I'll preorder it immediately.
One final thing: why are all you guys saying it's not worth $10? If it only supported one video format and you had to convert your video to the psp's native resolution before it'd play... that alone would be worth $10 to me. Just to get a full quality video on my psp without having to wait until they get around to making it on UMD.
Yesterday i tested the demo software in my 1.5 psp and it it 'bull****", full of ad-ons, the video player doesn't work, no web browser, no mp3, video or game streaming, no photo sharing...
I tried playing a diferent .avi file and it was very slow,i belive the program is lua, the mp3 player is DJPSP, i had all my hopes on this thing but after testing all my hopes went away. I doubt they it will do all they said it does and if the final version is written on Lua it's really gonna suck.
P.D= Still don't understand haw could sony autohtize this thing...
the ad's were annoying and the fact that half the features were not working... i'd like to try the full version, esp the web browser...
Ok, I missed the part about the web browser too. Where did they say that?Originally Posted by inverse

Available only on full version....
Does it have something with Lua player too? Someone was saying something about that. I'd d/l it but don't feel like downgrading again just to upgrade again right away.
Yes, as i said, the mp3 player look like the lua aplication djpsp, it has the same background (i still haven't been able to play any mp3).
If you look in the aplication folder you'll finde lots of .lua files so it has a lot to do with lua yes.
So this is starting to lean into BS territory, huh? Then I guess I'll do what I always do: keep my money until it's been verified.
Hmmm....is Lua open-source? If it is, then the company is violating the open source agreement if they fail to release their code for this "program".
If they have ANY open source code in their software and fail to release any changes they've made to that code to the general public, then they're in violation and can be taken to court.

Still don't get why will sony want to sign this, and not other stuff like pspradio, psp media player, djpsp....
This is very weird...
Because the creators of PSP Advance (who also created DJSP) have purchased the official SDK and are officially licensed developers. That's why Sony is signing the code. :)

So they do have the official SDK. In that case very nice however, I'd still like to see the full version in action before I make any assumptions. (When does it become available again.)
7th isnt it?
They say the date launch will be november 9th, do you think it'll be UMD version or download?
This demo version shows nothing really, the media player is very slow, it isn't even a media player and nothing really works. So we can't really judge it until it comes out. If it does everything they say it does it's gonna be the revolution for the psp , Game streaming, mmmmmmmmm :Punk:
This sounds great but... it also sounds too good to be true... I wouldnt mind paying but they should create an demo Eboot than just dissapears from our psps after a certain amount of time so we can see if it really works. I wouldnt pay for this before I know its worth buying... I'd rather just keep using my German 3Gp converter and iTunes avc converter... There are enough programs out there to help us with this problem. But I would like it in a convient little space... We'll see about this one.
And thanks for the upload but im at school and my filter blocked that site for " - suspcicious reasoning - " lol
Can anyone who is actually in the know comment on the lua question? Someone was saying lua player is built in (wasn't anything in the original post about that) and then someone else is saying it looks like it's lua based (wtf?). If lua player is built in (would they do that?) does that mean we could run lua apps on 2.0+? That seems unlikely... hence my confusion.
Thanks alot for the upload Guy, it kept pausing when i tried to download it from their website.
November 9th...the one year anniversary of Halo 2. What an awesome night that was when I went to FYE and got my preorder. *sings* Memories...
