Ok, so here's what happened..
I had a theme in my Flash0, wanted to change, so I flashed back just the files that had been replaced from the backup of my flash, and then I could only boot into recovery mode, it wouldn't go back into the XMB.
Fortunately I've got a roommate who also has a PSP, so I figgured that I could make my battery a Pandora, fix my PSP, and then switch my battery back to normal.
So, I go through everything, make a magic stick/pandora using the Pandora's GUI, no problem.
Downgrade back to 1.50, no problem; everything works fine. Re-convert my battery/MS to normal and give my roommate back his PSP.
Upgrade to 2.71 cfw, problem. Can't boot into recovery, screen doesn't even power on. Get back my roommate's PSP, re-convert my MS and battery, this time reading about the Despertar del Cementerio v4..
Do everything, set it up, everything seems to work fine. Upgrade to 3.80m33, reboot, black screen, the backlight doesn't even come on.
Pop the pandora/MS back in, reboot, install regular 3.80, reboot, it's fine!
Try and upgrade it to m33; black screen, no backlight.
:Argh: :Argh: :Argh: :Argh: :Argh:
And as I was typing this, just to try again, installed the vanilla 3.80, and that works fine! Pop the Pandora back in, install m33, brick!
Anyone have ANY idea what I could be doing wrong?
And now to add greatly to my confusion, if I have the m33 installed (which won't boot), but leave the MS in the drive, it boots to the "install 3.80/m33/nand" menu... But I don't have my battery in!
Ok, never mind, I finally figgured out that even if you don't have a Pandora in, the PSP is still in service mode untill you boot with a regular battery (something that I didn't see mentioned in ANY of the tutorials, unless I somehow totally missed it in every one I read and in all of the readme's that came with the software)
