Default Bricked PSP won't load any DC's

My friend recently told me that his PSP would not turn on, saying he probably bricked it. He would turn on the PSP, and the power light came on, and the screen stayed black. He could not turn it off, the only way it would shut off would be removing the battery. I offered to un-brick it for him. I used the same memory stick/Pandora combo I used to put CFW on his PSP (his model being a launch date 1000). DC8 booted up, and started installing 5.0M33. Half way through, a message popped up saying it had a error flashing a file. I hit to install M33 again. Went to 4%, then said it failed to flash power.something. I didn't get down the error codes. Probably stupidly, I went to install M33 again, and the screen shut off (I wasn't there when it happened, I walked off and gave him the then flashing PSP). Now, whenever I put in the Pandora+MMS and attempt to boot DC8, the power light comes on, then shuts off two seconds later (DC8 doesn't boot, and the memory stick light doesn't flash). DC8 boots up on my M33ed PSP, so the memory stick isn't the problem. Nor could it be the battery, considering if I'm not trying to boot up into DC8 the light stays solid.

I've also attempted earlier versions of DC, but to the same effect as DC8. I'm thinking it might be (and other people have said also) a hardware error, but I'd like some opinions before coming to that conclusion.

My opinion ?
PSP slim sucks.
The same problem with a friends slim psp.
Try another app like UPMS emerald.

If you in some way can load dc7 or dc8, then the first thing you should do is to format lflash and then procede to install 5.50 m33
